Almost a month since the launch of Chicken Rice Date!! If you haven’t watched it yet, here’s a snippet of @itssamanthacheong & @dandaninoodles sharing their eggs (??) with each other…

Head to Lim Chhour food court on Karangahape road to get this exact spread of delicious chicken dishes.

Unfortunately, @goodspacemusic may or may not serve you as part of the meal.

"Like the original series, Chicken Rice Date taps into the awkwardness of non-romantic settings for comedy. We revel in the slight ridiculousness of a first date occurring in a food court."

A local parody of the popular YouTube series Chicken Shop Date has reached an unexpected global viewership of over 37,000.

In the very first episode of Chicken Rice Date (@chickenricedate), Samantha Cheong (@itssamanthacheong) and Danielle Hao-Aickin (@dandaninoodles) sit in K' Road's Lim Chhour Food Court and ask each other about their steamed bun preferences (“super thick”) before delving into creative inspirations and relationships with mothers. This self-professed “delicious date” is a new video series which celebrates Asian and LGBTQ+ creatives from Aotearoa while spoofing the British YouTube sensation Chicken Shop Date.

Co-host Samantha Cheong fills us in at the link in bio.
