LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEARS EVENT

last summer, the four of us went into this with one goal in mind: to create a space where everyone, regardless of their disabilities, whether visible or invisible, felt included. we wanted an event that felt fully accessible, including a sensory room ramps, and hearing aid inclusions.

basically, the thought was that if four working class lads from the ribble valley, burnley and blackburn with darwen could do it, there was absolutely no excuse why the larger venues round the country still either struggled or refused to make amendments. and if we could raise a bit of money and awareness alongside a great night, then why not?

judging by the response to last year, we couldn’t be happier with the result. not only did we raise around £1400 for @sensecharity , we also had a great night raising awareness of these issues in the process.

this collection of photo’s highlight’s what made last year so magical - something we want to repeat again with all of you, on the 5th September. only a month away!

this year, we’re raising money for @shapearts, a wonderful charity working to improve access to culture for disabled people by providing opportunities for disabled creatives, training cultural institutions to be more open to disabled people, and through running participatory arts and development programmes.

we felt their mission aligned incredibly well with ours, and we hope to see you down @theyard_mcr in a month’s time.

tickets available at the link in bio, where donations can also be made - thank you for all your support💕
