Sometimes you walk into a room not knowing what's about to happen… and walk out completely different.

I faced a fear I didn't even know I was carrying recently. Got up, spoke up, and reminded myself why I started @drinkzohbo

Being yourself really is everything. The right rooms have the right people and they'll see you when you show up as exactly who you are!

Grateful for every door that's opening. Still building. Still going. 💯

Hi! I'm Chidera ☺️ founder of a handcrafted hibiscus mocktail brand rooted in West African culture and built on authenticity, community, and love.

The journey continues! Hey Google, play me Enondwe Boss! 😌💁🏾‍♀️

Some experiences stay with you long after you leave the room.

I recently attended Sickle Scars, an exhibition that brought together artwork created by people living with sickle cell.

I went expecting to experience an exhibition.

I left thinking about people.

About the science I learned in school. About the things I understood intellectually but had somehow separated from the human experience behind them.

And about Karina. 🕊

About Richardson. 🕊

About everyone whose lives were affected by sickle cell.

The artwork reminded me that awareness cannot only be about knowing the facts. It has to be about remembering the people behind them too.

People who experience the pain. People who undergo transfusions. People who love, laugh, dream, struggle and keep going.

I’m grateful that @drinkzohbo was able to contribute to this experience in a small but meaningful way.

But more than anything, I’m grateful I stopped long enough to listen, look and remember.

Thank you to everyone who created a space where these stories could be seen.

Sickle cell is more than a diagnosis. There are people behind it. There are stories behind it. And those stories matter.

Thankful for everyone who has supported and has loved @drinkzohbo

I'm proud to share that @drinkzohbo has been nominated for the Canada Small Business 100, presented by Mastercard 🎉

Zohbo started with one desire. Growing up, I drank 'zobo,' hibiscus tea steeped with pineapple peels, ginger, and cloves. Years later, I moved to Canada and was struck by how multicultural this country is. I wanted to bring my own dish to that potluck. So Zohbo became my way of sharing my West African heritage, a premium, handcrafted artisanal mocktail. Three flavours. All natural ingredients. No preservatives.

It hasn't been a straight line. Food science, HACCP plans, being ghosted, convincing someone at a market that hibiscus isn't a "drug" 😮‍💨. But every bottle sold reminds me why I started: to add my flavour to this beautiful mix of a country, and hopefully help the next generation see their own culture reflected on the shelf too.

This nomination is a moment to say thank you, to everyone who's tried a bottle, stocked us on a shelf, or shared a Zohbo with others. This is for my community, and for every founder building something rooted in where they come from.
Thank you @canadasmallbusiness100 and @mastercardca for this honour 🙏🏾

She wasn’t getting the promotion. She was unfulfilled in corporate. So she decided to bet on herself.

Meet Chidera — building a Zobo (hibiscus drink) business from scratch in Canada, one bottle at a time. She hasn’t left her corporate job yet. But she’s building something that’s hers.

Founder Spotlight | Meet the Founder Behind ZOHBO 🌺

Every great brand starts with a story.

For Chidera Ogueri that story began with a simple idea: create a drink that celebrates culture, brings people together, and offers a healthier way to connect.

What started as a passion has grown into ZOHBO, a handcrafted hibiscus mocktail brand inspired by community, culture, and bold flavours. Every bottle reflects a commitment to quality, authenticity, and creating something people can genuinely enjoy.

On this episode of FoundersOutlook, Chidera shares the journey of building a purpose driven brand, listening to customers, and turning an idea into a growing business.

If you’re building something of your own, this conversation is one you’ll want to hear.

And it's a wrap for us at K Days 2026! It was a joy meeting new people, learning more about our target consumers and watching people discover their favourite flavour 🤤

In 2024, I went through a change, both physical and psychological. I went to K Days with family and friends but in more ways than one, I still felt alone.

2 years later, I went back to K Days as a founder of @drinkzohbo. Showcased with the Maker Faire program with @exploreedmonton and sponsored by the one and only @blackbusinessedmonton. I came back more sure of myself and with the true confidence that I was never alone in the first place. This kind of confidence can truly only come from God and after focusing on healing and loving oneself ❤️

Grateful for the opportunities, always! I never want to take them for granted so I'm documenting them 📝

Next up: @yegheritagefest 🎊 Look at the last slide for the details

Same family, different settings ✨️☺️

Start of something new! Building the team, one zohboholic at a time 😉

My favorite picture of the whole week. It captures the loneliness, focus and intensity of my life as a founder.

@faykak, my sister friend reviewed and loved the 'Citrus Burst' mocktail kit!

I loved the firework shows at the end of the night! It was beautiful 😍 but low key scary because fun fact, I got blasted by a fire cracker on the side of my head as a kid 🥲😮‍💨🫠

Up next, Heritage festival! A big thank you to the @ncaedm for the opportunity! We're doing a spin on our drinks! I'm sure you'll love it. Come find us at Pavilion 41! 🎊📌 taken in Edmonton EXPO Centre by @chidherah_

*Turn Sound On* for our founder's, @chidherah_ honest reaction to seeing the face change when someone tries on of our drinks!

Quick storytime: This wonderful woman mentioned that she had heard someone, who was just passing by her, say that they loved the sorrel they tried and it was really good! She became curious and decided to make a purchase. We promised her that it was good and it will be worth it.

She decided to try it in front of us and you can hear my excitement at the sight of her face change. That is ingrained in our memories. Seeing everyone's smiles or shock or excitement when they try our drinks, especially the kids, makes the journey worth it!

Today is our last day showcasing our drinks and telling our story at K Days for 2026! There's still time to discover which flavour is your favourite, get a 6 pack to share with your family and friends, or get our mocktail kits for yourself or as a gift for someone! Don't miss out on what WILL be your new favourite drink✨️

#throwbackthursday to our last market that was hosted by the Black Business Edmonton team @blackbusinessedmonton ☺️ Shout out to the whole team for planning such a wonderful event that brought Black businesses together in such a well thought out space to reflect and connect.

We came with our hearts open not knowing what to expect and got the chance to make new connections with other wonderful POC entrepreneurs, meet so many new people who loved both our story and the drinks, and we evidently SOLD OUT! 🎉

This post is a celebration of a milestone. Our first ever market where we sold out. We're documenting all the wins online, we hope that's okay because we'd love for you to come on this journey with us. It might have had a few bumps here and there but it's proven so far to be worth it!

More news on the way, #zohboholics 🫶🏾 Be on the lookout!
