Every Native born into this world is a victory against colonialism & genocide. We are a living testament to resistance. We are hope made of flesh and a soul with deep understanding and connectedness to nature. We are a proud people. We are the people! 💛❤️🖤🤍

November is National Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the traditions, languages, cultures, and stories of Native American and Alaska Native communities. It's a time to recognize our ancestors, honor those who came before us, and celebrate the generations of Native people who continue to keep our cultures alive today.

This November, and every month, we celebrate the rich histories, contributions, and resilience of our people and the lasting impact we continue to have on this land.

It's also an opportunity for those who aren't Native American or Alaska Native to take the time to educate themselves, learn about our histories, respect our traditions and ways of life, and acknowledge the atrocities inflicted upon our ancestors. While generations have passed, the effects of colonialism haven't disappeared. Many of our communities continue to face hardships and fight to preserve what our ancestors worked so hard to protect.

Our cultures are not just part of history. They are alive, thriving, and being carried forward by the generations of Native people here today.

This season, please choose respect. Educate yourself on the history of the land you live on, support authentic Indigenous artists, and remember that our culture is a living, sacred way of life—not a trend.

I need some fucking Tylenol, because neck hurts, because I'm getting old! 🧓🏾🤣🎵🎼 by @chiefofblasphemy

One thing I have learned about being sober is that you actually get tired of people saying that they are proud of you. The first few months are great, but it seems to slowly lose its genuine meaning and becomes almost like semantic satiation, which is a psychological phenomenon in which repeating a word or phrase too many times causes it to temporarily lose its meaning, making it sound like a string of meaningless noises or random symbols.

To tell you the truth, I really hate that I think of it that way. It really seems to be like that when hearing it from friends and family, especially those who just do not know what to say to me or how to even relate to me anymore because I am sober and in active recovery and they are not. So all they say is "Im proud of you man."

If you are reading this, please dont take it personal or stop saying it. Maybe just dont say it as much or maybe its just something I need to work on.

But beleive me when I say I am very grateful, very blessed, and very thankful to even be alive to actually hear those words, because if I was still continued to be in active addiction I would literally be ☠️⚰️ or in prison. by @chiefofblasphemy
