Trying to catch up on some game action from the @colts game in week 2. Great to see my guy @superdj56 get his name in the ring of honor. I had the honor of watching him play and getting to photograph his entire career, what a deserved honor for DJ. Glad to see my guy @mattbowenphoto before the game. Thanks to the @chiefs photo team for another great week of work. As always thanks @canonusa for all the continued help and support. #chiefskingdom by @chiefsphotog

Speaker Spotlight: Steve Sanders (Saturday Keynote)
PhotoCon Kansas City (March 19–21, 2026)

A Day In The Life: NFL Photographer

Saturday’s keynote takes you straight onto the sidelines. Join Steve Sanders, Director of Photography for the Kansas City Chiefs, for an inside look at what it’s really like photographing the NFL—where access is incredible, expectations are sky-high, and every moment happens fast.

Steve will walk you through a day in the life of a pro sports photographer, from the planning before game day to the pace and pressure of capturing must-have moments in real time. You’ll hear how he anticipates action, positions for impact, and delivers consistent results when there are no do-overs. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to break into sports photography (or just want the behind-the-scenes reality), this session is your all-access pass.

Thanks to our sponsors, Canon and Westcott, for helping bring pro-level imaging and lighting education to PhotoCon KC.

Everyone is gearing up for #SBLX. On Sunday, nonstop content will move through PhotoShelter, with highlights hitting social in seconds.

We asked past champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, what makes the perfect #SuperBowl image. Here’s what they said:

“You’ve got to identify that moment. What is the moment that tells the story of the whole game?

Is it a big play? Is it the emotion of the celebration or the emotion of the defeat?

But really it’s that piece that’s going to tell that full story, and you’ve got to catch it in a still frame.

We say a lot: People don’t go to museums to watch videos, they go for that piece of art that is so captivating to the eye that everybody wants to see it, and in order to get it, you have to be at the right place at the right time.” - Steve Sanders (@chiefsphotog), Director of Photography, @chiefs by @chiefsphotog

I hear it’s likely Travis Kelce’s final Arrowhead Stadium game today on Christmas Day. Such an honor to be able to photograph Kelce and the rest of The Chiefs football team at Geha Field.

My YouTube video will be out soon about my whole experience as an NFL sports photographer for a day! @vanessajoy over there too 😊

And it’s still a far off dream to get to Photograph the royal wedding for everyone who’s been asking 😉 but if Ms Taylor Swift calls, I probably wouldn’t be able to tell you anyway 🤫

Merry Christmas 🎄

Only my second trip to @dallascowboys and this one on #thanksgiving was incredible. Great environment for a game the west facing window light didn’t disappoint. Sorry #chiefskingdom that the result wasn’t what we wanted but let’s keep our head up and keep rolling. Thanks @canonusa taken in AT&T Stadium by @chiefsphotog
