I took some pics of the second art book of Link Click, in particular it contains everything concerning the making, and some behind the scenes, of the Second Season and the Bridon Arc!! >.<

We have close-ups of each character: it is shown, and described, how their character design works and how their facial expressions come to life. From sketches to animation. Same with the settings: from just drawings to fully rendered backgrounds.

The third season of the donghua is currently airing, only few episodes are out but all of them are plot-packed. My only certainty (if I can dare to have one XD bc when it comes to Link Click there are none..) is that our three protagonists: Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang and Qiao Ling, will have to work together to solve the situation (an opinion I share with @ryangjoloverr <3), they are just too connected for anything not to happen, they’ve been sharing a bond since childhood and I’m sure there’s a reason to all of that.

🏸 Courtside Courtship

starts with a comedic setting, proceeds carrying an unexpected depth. 𝐒𝐢𝐰𝐨𝐧 is a badminton player, on the 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦, and he’s also 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐨𝐨𝐧’s idol; that’s when 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 comes into play.

at first, Siwon might come off as a superficial/careless individual, but some of his facial expressions (bordering on the horror genre) give away bits of his personality: he is avoidant, always with a mask, unreadable.

Siwon is incapable of receiving and accepting love. he showed it multiple times, he doesn’t feel worthy, and does everything in his power to make Woojoon turn his back on him, continuously self-sabotaging. sex? sure. feelings? no thanks!

Woojoon is, on the contrary, a very open person about his sentiments. in fact, he says that he’ll keep liking Siwon, no matter what, and that’s what Siwon needs: someone who’ll keep loving him despite the countless self-sabotage acts.

thinking that Siwon is just messing with Woojoon would mean playing Siwon’s game, but I believe there’s more to it than it meets the eye. the story is still ongoing so we don’t know, but I needed to write my thoughts, bear with me^^

my take on Siwon’s behaviour is: childhood.
I believe that not receiving love when you’re a child, especially from your parents, affects the way you approach relationships. you stop believing that someone could love you without hidden motives, bc the ones who were supposed to love you unconditionally didn’t.

I also wanted to make a comparison with 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬 and 𝐍𝐨𝐞́. in mémoire 53, Noé screams: “𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦”. free as in alone. Vanitas tries to isolate himself by pushing everyone away, but Noé just won’t grant his wish!

entertaining only in superficial relationships and hiding your vulnerabilities can feel safe, plus, there is no fear of disappointing people if there’s no one around you.

I don’t know if the right path is to open up, it takes a lot of effort, but I sure am glad that people like Woojoon and Noé exist in real life, too. they are the perpetual proof that someone can be loved for just being themselves, without any other conditions demanded, unconditionally. <3 by @chiiasso

⋆ ☾ ⋆ ⁺ Our dreams at dusk

a queer slice of life manga written from 2015 to 2018, but I find it more actual than ever!

ᴛᴡ: ʜᴏᴍᴏᴘʜ𝟢ʙɪᴀ, ꜱᴜɪᴄɪᴅ𝟦ʟ ᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛꜱ, ᴏᴜᴛɪɴɢ.

I believe that we, as individuals, are in need of safe spaces where we can express ourselves and our identity without the fear of being judged or the need of hiding.

a safe space is exactly what our characters find in the 𝘿𝙧𝙤𝙥-𝙄𝙣 𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧: a warm place run by 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆-𝑺𝒂𝒏, a mysterious individual who will prevent our protagonist, 𝑻𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒌𝒖, from doing the unthinkable after being outed in school.

𝑻𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒌𝒖 starts frequenting the 𝘿𝙧𝙤𝙥-𝙄𝙣 𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧, he discovers beautiful people, and I believe community is what made a difference in his healing process. We tend to underestimate the power community holds. His growth isn’t linear and far from perfect, but that makes it realistic.

“𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵”

there’s no such ‘everything will be fine’ when it comes to coming out in real life, especially to one’s family. We know not everyone is privileged enough to have parents that understand, so I appreciated how this real issue was portrayed in the story, and from diff perspectives!

for example, we have a 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒌𝒐 and 𝑺𝒂𝒌𝒊: a lesbian couple that’s about to get married. One came out to her parents long ago while the other didn’t, does that make her love less worth? absolutely not. there are no rights or wrongs when it comes to this, everyone has their own pace and background to face.

every expression is drawn in a way that makes you understand what the character is feeling before it says anything, I think the author allowed these powerful emotions to reach us through the panels’ placing as well.

to conclude, this isn’t just 𝑻𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒌𝒖’s story, it can be everyone’s story; actually there are more characters that I didn’t mention but are equally important; gender’s concept is explored as well through Misora and Utsumi, so both from a very young age to a more mature one. anyways. powerful manga that hit home. absolutely recommend it^^ by @chiiasso

🤍 Momentum, M’s study

“𝙗𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙨, 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧’𝙨 𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨.. 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙩.”

a young wanna-be photographer and two already well assessed ones: none of them have their life sorted out, and this is what’s good about this story.

we are basically thrown into a fragment of time where the lives of these three get linked, and we read as they’re living their non-perfect lives, with the goods and the ‘wrongs’.

the 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬 were what allowed me to hear all the sounds, the noises, and the silences that these three exchanged, this work is the perfect example that there isn’t always the need for text to communicate something.

all the emotions reached me nevertheless: the rage, the suffering, the 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (the one they shared for photography and the one they felt for each others!).

the storytelling and the panels’ composition made me feel as if i were right beside them, as if i were experiencing those events as well.

i had a fun trip in the life of those three, it’s true that u can really see the thought’s of who’s behind the lens just by looking at photographs. Among all the stories contained in the 3 volumes of Momentum, 𝐌’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 was the one that stuck with me the most, gotta thanks 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐨 (the one in the cover) for that, his tormented character has a special place in my heart. <3 by @chiiasso

𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵?

in this manga demons are depicted as elegant and charming beings: they need to attract us, to decive us. and they do that with their 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨. in Madk demons’ social cast is, in fact, defined by how well they’re able to use dialectic, how well they can trick the other and make them do whatever they want, and u can’t spell one’s name if you are inferior to them.

but both humans and demons feel loneliness: 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐭𝐨 went through it when he was still human because of his different and peculiar tastes, 𝐉 experiences it too: being the strongest often means being the loneliest.

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐭𝐨 points out multiple time how we see demons behaving more human than humans, and humans acting worse than demons, but thats not news: 𝘾𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙝𝙞𝙫𝙚 from Kuroshitsuji always reminds us how humans can be waaaay more cruel than demons.

they also both experience love, even tho in different ways, 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐨 wants to devour 𝐉, would that be considered a form of love? up to you.

i loved 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐭𝐨 because he’s not the typical innocent and pitiable boy who just happened to be dragged into the demons’ world, not only he’ll play the demon role very well: he’ll master it.

and the drawing style? unique, elegant, sometimes confusing (in a good way :3). 𝐉 is for sure one of the most elegant demon i’ve ever seen (Sebastian Michaelis you’re there too dont worry) and the outfit style?? kinda victorian, gorgeous.

the story gets better and better through the volumes, i absolutely reccomend this read <3 even tho it’s pretty graphic and unhinged, so be careful with the tw :)

🖤 soul eater

one of the best october read? without doubt Soul Eater with his immaculate and unique artstyle.

from the pics i took it shows, among all the beautiful characters, that the dynamic that captivated me the most was the one between 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧 & 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙙. especially with Kid it was love at first sight: his character development is one of the best in manga history if u ask me, because despite changing he was able not to lose his core.

every character is explored in depth, they all have their own backstory and their own growth, and they look the absolute coolest while going through the most devastating things sksjks

the characters design and the 𝙜𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙘 𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚 surely contributed to its popularity, but it’s just a plus to the amazing plot. it is inevitable to also talk about the ongoing manga 𝙂𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙖𝙠𝙪𝙩𝙖, since the author was one of Ohkubo’s assistant, and it shows, can’t wait to know more ab this story as well!! :)

I’ve been following this donghua since 2023, when the second season was coming out, so i’m overflowing with happiness now that i’m able to flip through the pages of this beautiful art book.

this is the story of two young boys with opposite personalities who put the utmost trust in each other: they’re like family, even something more.

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐗𝐢𝐚𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢 is sincere, naive and unpredictable while, on the other hand, 𝐋𝐮 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠 is more calm and calculating (at least most of the time!).

as the chief director Li Haoling said in the interview in the last pages of this book: “(…) 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺. 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭𝘴.”

one of the reason this show is so unique (apart from the amazing animations) is the impact that each story has on us: they’re narrated with no filter, just raw reality, to the point it’s painful to go through the episodes.

𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨, 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙚, 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚.

and when you think you understood something of the plot: they surprise you completely, leaving us with nothing but little hints to put together, hints left as small details through the whole show: nothing is casual.

it’s coming back with his 3rd season in 2026 on crunchyroll, so this would be a good time to watch it^^ by @chiiasso

🧡 jackass!

ciò che a prima vista sembrava essere un volumetto simpatico, just kinky e leggero, si è rivelata essere una storia per niente superficiale e piena di riflessioni.

fra i temi toccati (o anche solo accennati) abbiamo l’omofobia interiorizzata e la cattiva e distorta rappresentazione del sesso dataci dai porno.

ho letto quest’opera a scatola chiusa, spinta solo dal nome dell’autrice e ne è scaturita una magnifica esperienza di lettura. Se ha catturato la vostra curiosità consiglio quindi di leggerlo al buio skippando review e foto nelle slide <3

i protagonisti della coppia principale sono 𝐊𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐞 & 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐮𝐤𝐢, due personaggi diametralmente opposti. 𝐊𝐞𝐢 vive, insieme alla sorella, in una situazione economica piuttosto delicata, per questo si sente in dovere di lavorare part-time e risparmiare continuamente. 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐚 invece viene più volte definito ‘figlio di papà’ per via del denaro dei genitori, ma è sempre vero che chi abbia molti soldi sia perennemente felice? è sempre vero che oltre ai soldi non possa mancare null’altro? che non si soffra? ecco, questo è un argomento che mi sarebbe piaciuto venisse affrontato di più, ma trattandosi pur sempre di un volume unico credo di potermi ritenere soddisfatta :)

l’MVP però non può essere nessun altro se non 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐢: acuto, divertente, sfrontato ma mai di troppo. È apertamente gay ed è il prezioso migliore amico di Keisuke, un consigliere e ‘fratello’ indispensabile. Anche lui, all’interno di questo volume, ha una storia tutta sua che va ad intrecciarsi perfettamente con quella dei due protagonisti.

è stata una lettura che mi ha fatto sorridere (e ridere in diverse occasioni: grazie Katsumi). Nonostante le situazioni di ‘drama’ non siano mancate non le ho mai percepite come banali o non necessarie, è stato importante capire il punto di vista dell’altra persona, comunicare e a volte: rischiare.

that’s the promise 𝑯𝒂𝒍 and 𝑺𝒂𝒎 make to each other once their orphanage roommate, 𝑵𝒐𝒃𝒖, gets taken away.. and they’ll make sure to devote their lives to it.

the plot of these 4 volumes is the result of a perfect intertwinement between their love and the need to unmask the orphanage’s real purpose, why do children keep disappearing? where are they being sold to?

so not only you’ll find a compelling and intricate plot, but you’ll also be facing a love so strong that will make you question if you ever read a proper love story until now, they literally entrust their lives to each other, completely.

one of the things that makes this story unique is that their aim isn’t revenge, it was never about revenge. they act meticulously, calculating, not losing themselves even for a second.

i love when polygamy is well represented, when it’s showed how normal and spontaneous it is to feel love and deep care for more than one person.

🤍 happy first year to this account!! <3

today i wanted to make a special post that included most of my favorite pairs, doomed black & white hair duos are my core😭😭🤍

and ofc they all made me suffer, they wouldn’t be doomed otherwise right?? i’m sure y’all also have a favorite pair👀

they don’t have to be seen strictly as couples (even tho i do ship them all) and the majority of them aren’t canon (some due to censorship :3) so yeah, but mind that the material used is all canon!!

i didn’t include them all ofc, so let me know if u have a favorite pair that’s not up there! i’m starved for this kinda of dynamic so i can’t wait to discover more XD

🪻Gangan Joker august issue, featuring Noé, Oz & Vanitas in the cover <3

this month Mochizuki sensei came back with a new chapter of vanitas no carte and i couldn’t be more happy!!! this is also the first magazine i’ve ever bought from japan, there was also a beautiful postcard included :3

i usually wouldn’t have made a post about this but the returning of vanitas is just so important that it deserved a post :) the new chapter was also super funny and i can see we’re moving forward👀 i have great expectations for this story and i know a lot of you were awaiting for this return as well <33 by @chiiasso

🦚 birds of shangri-la

ꜱʜᴀɴɢʀɪ-ʟᴀ ɪꜱ ᴘᴇʀ ᴅᴇꜰɪɴɪᴛɪᴏɴ “ᴀ ʀᴇᴍᴏᴛᴇ, ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛɪꜰᴜʟ, ɪᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀʀʏ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇ ᴡʜᴇʀᴇ ʟɪꜰᴇ ᴀᴘᴘʀᴏᴀᴄʜᴇꜱ ᴘᴇʀꜰᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ”

and that’s how 𝐉𝐚𝐧, the owner, welcomes 𝐀𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨 in his little paradise: a brothel made up of male sex workers. he’ll start working there as a teaser, his job is to basically get the ‘birds’ ready for the customers.

what’s different from other brothels?? the workers stay here by choice, can even take vacation days and choose their clients. the birds are very well taken care of.

𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙞𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝟯 𝙪𝙣𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙨: 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙨𝙢, 𝙣𝙤 𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚.

𝐏𝐡𝐢 is a worker, a veteran, so he’s given the task of getting Apollo accustomed to the work. another little detail is that Apollo claims to be straight and only accepted this work because he needed money (we’ll discover why later in the story)

i dont wanna spoil much, discoverig birds of shangri-la it’s a real emotional trip, it’s heavy and painful but beautiful at the same time. i love both the protagonists’ characterization: they come from veeery different backgrounds and somehow still manage to link completely, their minds in particular do.

just a little observation about how HANDS are super important in this story. hands can tell us the whole backstory of a person and Phi knows it well. this is actually related to one of his trauma but he pays special attention to all hands, to Apollo’s ones in particular, in fact the first thing he’ll notice ab him will be the missing ring in one of his finger.

Phi has the habit to bite his fingernails when he’s scared, habit rapidly discovered and comprehended by Apollo, who’s coming to understand Phi every day a bit more.

in short: we got 3 volumes for now, the story is not completed yet and i physically cannot wait for an update sksjsjsk. you might already know the author: Ranmaru Zariya, i discovered her with this story and, needless to say, i’ll read ‘coyote’ as well very soon.
