Introducing @childhooodboy • (INTRW link in bio) •Q: The liminal aesthetic often evokes memory without narrative like that never existed. Do you intentionally use this visual language to question the way digital media reconstructs memory and identity? childhoodboy: I’m drawn to these liminal spaces or dream-like states because they feel like emotional gaps between who we are and who present ourselves to be within the online space. This blur between memory and imagination. I feel like this a lot in real life when I travel to other countries and have these brand new experiences. I really felt like this when I went to Japan and Norway for the first time. I felt as if I was almost in between worlds. And as if I was just walking around in this dream-like state. (That’s why I also take a lot of photographs). In a way I feel that digital media rebuilds our sense of who we think we are and I use my illustration work to question the idea of what’s real and what’s just an echo of emotion. #interview #digitalillustration #digitalart #anime #animeaesthetic #dreamcoreaesthetic #liminalspaces #drawing #artdaily by @childhooodboy
