Sparkle is a team sport, apparently.

I bedazzled Sukhi’s denim jacket with leftover crystals in every colour and size, and by the time it was finished I couldn’t let her have all the sparkle to herself, so my own headband got properly bejeweled too. One stone at a time until we both matched.

Come with us on the day I make my childhood fashion fantasy come true.

I’ve loved sewing since I was a little girl with Barbie dolls and a needle I probably shouldn’t have been trusted with. Now that same love has grown into an entire mini couture collection, made piece by piece for my Chihuahuas to match me, and today we finally brought it to life in the city I call home.

Suitcase in hand, London as our backdrop, a full day of chaos and joy behind every clip.

It started when I was eight, learning to sew tiny doll outfits alongside my mother and grandmother, patient teachers for a very impatient aspiring designer. Decades later, same needle, same instinct, just a completely different runway. Papito’s dress, made stitch by stitch to match mine, finally making its debut with Westminster as the backdrop and Big Ben watching over the whole thing.
Turns out the girl who used to dress Barbies just graduated to dressing real dogs, on a much bigger stage.

Ferrari red started it all.

My Chanel bag in that exact shade sent me hunting for authentic red tweed, and once I found it, there was only one thing to do: a little coat for Papito, and a reworked denim jacket for me, collar and frayed cuffs matched piece for piece with his.

No label inside either of them. Just the fabric that mattered and two hands that knew what to do with it.

Come with me and my Chihuahua to Chelsea Dog Day.

I made him an outfit to match mine, handmade from scratch, figuring it might get a few smiles. Instead, Papito turned into the main event. People flocked over all day, everyone wanted a photo, a cuddle, or in a few cases, jokingly tried to negotiate taking him home with them.

It wasn’t me. 😂

Chanel inspired me to make my dog a red sequin coat. What I saw on the runway was pure creative genius so of course I had to translate the SS27 fashion show collection into a Papito sized outfit! Brittney Spears, A-ha and if only we had Coco Chanel’s original bag, wouldn’t that just be the dream? ❤️

Chanel SS27 fashion show PFW. And I was there ❤️

Mathieu Blazy outdid himself with this one. Chanel pre Gabrielle, her original bag part of the closing outfit of the show. Seeing the fashion live, the fabrics, textures and colours come alive in a way that images can’t quite capture. This was as good as couture. I personally loved his crystals mini classics and light blue embroidered bird jacket. Don’t even get me started on the red sequin coat! And the music! Aha meets Brittney 😎 Chanel is on fire with Blazy! Long may it last 🖤

Someone finally said yes.

The invitation I’ve dreamed about my whole life landed, and it came from the one place that actually made sense given everything I’ve been making all summer: a handmade dog couture collection, a mum who taught me to sew, and a dream that never really went away since Barbie got her first tiny outfit.

This summer had one job.

Every single piece in this carousel started as fabric on my table and ended as a matching outfit for Papito, made stitch by stitch until the little girl who used to dress Barbie dolls finally got her real atelier. We took the whole collection out across London, because handmade couture deserves better than a living room mirror.

Cool girls are dog mums who match with their dogs. Turns out I’ve been training for this since I was eight.

It took me six hours to make his matching outfit. It took him six seconds to make it look better.

Leopard print for me, a hand-sewn turquoise tulle skirt for him, both of us dressed like we had somewhere important to be. Every seam, every layer of that skirt, stitched by hand until it finally matched the energy of my own outfit properly.

He just stood there and made it look effortless. That’s the real skill, I’m still working on mine.
