Thank you so much for the positive reception to my secret project! I'm so taken aback by all the kind words and I'm so happy you're enjoying seeing it in person! Here's some stills and more info about the build ❤️

So the brief from Bandai for this project was a simple one - create a British themed diorama showcasing an iconic element and of course, include some Gundams. I opted for the Glenfinnan Viaduct - a massive 21-arch Victorian railway bridge in Scotland, paired with the absolutely iconic world famous Flying Scotsman.

For the Gundam element, I've used some personal favourites of mine which just happen to work perfectly thematically, and that's three suits from Turn A. The world of Turn A is this mix of advanced technology with a world that has largely returned to a simpler way of life, which makes this juxtaposition work so well. Think time travel without the time travel! They would not look out of place flying around with reckless abandon in the Scottish Highlands 😅

I could go on for ages about the tools, techniques, UK scale model scene, composition and scale, but I'll save that for in person chats so I can bore you in person 😅

Thank you all - you're amazing 🙏 If you do see it in person do let me know what you think!

This is something I've wanted for years and I'm so hyped I finally have it - a permanent hobby space!!

So previously I had either my work desk or my dining table to build on. Neither provided me with a permanent hobby space so before any building it involved a lot of tidying up and gathering all the supplies I needed. It also meant I needed to clean up after every session in order to use the space for it's other purpose. It wasn't ideal, and was fairly disruptive, but I made it work.

After a very, very long time I was able to sell the flat I owned before this and I've now got myself a house in Cambridgeshire (Any builders in the area let me know! We need to organise a build day!) which has granted me a huge upgrade from a hobby space perspective. On the downside I am further away from London and there doesn't appear to be any decent hobby stores nearby, but it just means I'll have to make the most of it when I come across one!

Alot of the content I'll be putting out from now will be using this space so I wanted to give you a walkthrough before you see it and question what happened to the gaming shelves I had before!

Let me know what you think of it!

First off, massive congratulations for making it to the weekend! Sit down and chill - you deserve it! Got much planned? What games or model kits have you got on the go at the moment?

For me, it's the first one in a while where I don't really need to do anything, so I'm planning on having a fairly lazy one. I do need to put up my Christmas tree though...but that seems like a tomorrow problem 😅

Some Guncannon glam shots for you 😊

So this here is the HGUC RX-77-2 Guncannon Revive Ver., which is newer, improved version of the original HG with better proportions. It's not a complex kit, but it's a fun, iconic, and will only set you back around £15.

Now that I've scratched that itch and got a build finished up I think it's time I finally did those water decals for the MGSD Destiny 🙈

Treating myself to a one day build to scratch that itch - I'm going to get this finished up and topcoated today (weather permitting). I got the runners out the other day and did start snipping some of the pieces but didn't get very far, so I'm basically starting from scratch 😊

What's your weekend plans?

So in a bid to lock in and get the MGSD Destiny finished up I ended up spawning 2 side quests and a secret quest 🙈 Safe to say I achieved the complete opposite of what I wanted, but I did create new avenues of fun and creativity, so swings and roundabouts 🤷‍♂️

How's your focus on hobbies been this weekend? As bad as mine or have you locked in and achieved a lot of what you had planned?

MGSD Destiny basking in the evening sun, wondering when I'll get around to adding the water decals 😅

I'm trying to muster the energy to finish up what is in all honesty a stunning build, but I've got two other projects that I find myself gravitating towards. Not to mention the other kits I want to just go snapbuild. Steak too juicy and all that 😅

How's your weekend been? Been building or playing much?

Which mobile suit would you like to see turned into an MGSD?

One last look at the runners before I snip and sand them into tiny pieces. Can't wait to start 😁

MGSD Destiny won in the polls! It was close between this and the Guncannon.

Thank you so much for helping with my decision paralysis! Does anyone else get this when you've got an extensive backlog of kits and games?

Any Witch from Mercury fans here?

It's still being published so no word on how many volumes there will be, but you can grab volume 1 now and volume 2 next week of Vanadis Heart!

It's set 16 years after the events of the anime and 5 years after the event outlined in the prologue episode of the anime. Focusing on the prosthesis and medical applications of GUND tech, and Lfrith Jui being the main suit is what really drew me in.

I'm planning on reading these as they release - who's with me?

I'm in need of your help once again! What do I build next?

With the Zaku Cannon finally (🙈) finished, it's time to dip into the backlog and pick something new to work on. These are the 5 I'm being drawn. Which would you choose?

● MGSD Destiny (I've not built an MGSD yet!)
● Bulma's Motorcycle (I'm going through a Dragon Ball phase atm - binging Super and playing the Kakarot game on Nintendo Switch)
● RG Wing Gundam Zero (soo many good things said about this kit!)
● HG Guncannon (will use this as an opportunity to test scribing and customisations using plaplate)
● Warhammer Skitarii (will paint my Rangers for my Adeptus Mechanicus army)

Also, Happy Monday and hope you're having a great start to the week!

Broken decals, cracked parts, stressed plastic - sooo much went wrong in the build of this. All human error though (minus some molding defects), but despite all of that it's still an epic looking kit. And to be honest you'll have to look hard to notice it all - but I know they're there 👀

This is the MG Gundam Base Zaku Cannon (Z Gundam Ver.) that I picked up at the launch of the @g_base_uk. I did start at the end of July but struggled to find the motivation to finish it. Definitely not the kits fault though - it was a delight to build and I love the look of it. I don't think it was burnout, I think it's purely trying to juggle too many hobbies at once. But now this is done, my attention is now on my backlog to figure out what's next. I might have to lean on you all to decide again though 😅

What was the last kit you finished building? Did you stop at a snap build or did you push it further?

Hope you're all having a great weekend!
