We need you to help us build a new Iron Age roundhouse!

Our much loved roundhouse was built in 1995 and is now coming to the end of its life.

We need your help to raise £50,000 to build a new roundhouse so thousands of children every year can visit the Iron Age with our award-winning learning programme.

The new roundhouse will be built with the most up-to-date archeological information, so there will be some exciting new features in the new structure including a chalk and cheese floor and a mezzanine!

Discover more about the project and donate on our website. Link in bio.

It's nearly time for our epic Napoleonic Weekend! On 31 May & 1 June, over 150 reenactors will transport the Museum back to the time of the Napoleonic wars when this amazing living history event returns for 2025.

🐎 Hear the cavalry horses thunder and the cannons boom💥 as we witness our largest military skirmish of the season. Talk with the soldiers in their encampments ⛺ and find out the importance of women's roles in the era.

Don't miss this fantastic display of military firepower as history is brought to life by the skills of the Napoleonic Association. 🎟️ Book tickets at https://www.coam.org.uk/events/napoleonic-living-history-weekend-2025

A few more photos from our fabulously spooky Halloween Spectacular! by @chilternoam

Thank you to everyone who came to our Halloween Spectacular on Friday night!

We hope you had a fabulously spooky (or not too spooky) evening and enjoyed the COAM circus theme.

We're sorry if the wifi problems on site caused any inconvenience to your visit - with so many people on site it was frustrating that our upgraded connection was having issues and our team were working hard to get the problem resolved quickly.

Our amazing volunteers and staff created amazing interactive family experiences and spooky installations. Blackthorn Events did a great job creating our scary walk and funhouse along with lighting up parts of the Museum site. Students from Buckinghamshire New University scared us silly and were fabulous face-painters, and we loved listening to the Halloween band.

If you visited our Not-so-Spooky Circus photo studio - the photos are now available. Everyone who registered should have received an email link to the gallery - let us know if you need the details.

See you for another fantastic Halloween Spectacular in 2027! by @chilternoam

50 Years of COAM –2018🎉 In 2018, we erected the Bow Hut. This is our second ‘Nissen Hut’, and its materials were salvaged from an airfield in Suffolk. Although no WW1 Nissen Huts still exist, we rebuilt this one to represent a WW1 Nissen Hut, creating a school lunch venue and an exhibit area about the Chilterns and WW1. Image Captions 1. 👻 Students from our Creative Industries courses will be performing at the @chilternoam Halloween Spectacular tomorrow 🎃 Acting and Musical Theatre students will be doing character work, and Make-up students will be offering face-painting to visitors 🧟

We had a great time at our Tudor themed Terrific Tuesday this week. Singing and acting in a play about Henry VIII's black trumpeter, making Tudor rose designs, listening to fantastical stories and getting our Hands-on-Clay to help create a fabulously ornate Tudor pie.

Terrific Tuesdays will be back for the Easter holidays - get a COAM annual membership and join in the fun with our great family activities for a whole year! by @chilternoam
