Baixa no peixe!!

Handmade dress made out of braids by me for @bodydoxy !!

So much cancer♋️ energy on the air got me thinking alot about my ancestry, and i thought braids were the best way for me to represent all that i feel about blackness and femininity. The times i spent being braided by mom or my sisters and how much of a spiritual and collective process taking someones braids out was for me growing up! From that to the way that braids used to be used as maps, to find your way to freedom, i feel like these braids that @vilma.muhongo did on me really woke something in me that i wasnt really sure i had or how to access it.
Anyways i love black women happy pride month!!

I told yall I been feeling post apocaliptic puss
This was my fit for @bodydoxy (mother’s doxy) i thought about how my relationship with my mom is connected to my relationship my body and how i take care of it so i had shoes i could move in to represent the swiftness in my feet i learned to have from my mother to pivot when its called for and as fast as necessary, i wanted to have the sheer skirt to represent how so many times we have to conceal the steps we take to leave places of precariedade, (as in shame in the game)i wanted to represnt also some restraint, with the corset and the belt, as to indicate to the strength we carry at our core, and how it needs to be protected at all times to the point of stiffness, as it also guides the waist. The top and its fluidity in movement reminds me of water and emotions that i carry in my chest and my arms, flowing through me, memory, pain, love and care, also shows of my tattoo so thats cutee.
