Kashmir is a land where Shakti has been revered in countless forms — Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tulmul, Sharika Bhagwati at Hari Parbat, Jwala Ji at Khrew and the ancient tradition of Sharada, after whom Kashmir itself came to be celebrated as Sharada Desha.

Sharadiya Navratri therefore carries a meaning beyond nine days of worship.
It is a reminder of a tradition that has travelled with Kashmiri Pandits through generations — from our temples and sacred springs in Kashmir to our homes wherever we live today.

Homes may change. Generations may change.
But the lamp before the Devi continues to burn. 🪔

This Navratri, may Maa Durga give us Shakti, Maa Lakshmi bring prosperity, and Maa Saraswati illuminate us with wisdom.

Article 370

In 2022, Ghulam Nabi Azad, chief patron cum founder of Democratic Progressive Azad Party, told Kashmiris, “I will not mislead you.”

In his speech on September 11, 2022 at a rally in Baramulla, he explained why he believed Article 370 could not simply be restored.

Fast-forward to today, the politics around Article 370 continues to evolve unabated .

Makes me wonder what has changed? Is it the law, the politics, or the promise? Well, its simply the urge to resurrect the drowning political careers perhaps by the guardians of Kashmir!

I urge you to not follow the political sloganeering of politicians who want to drag Kashmir back into the stone age. Instead, watch their words carefully and remember the timeline. Then decide for yourself.

A viral video from the Minimarg checkpoint near Dras–Zoji La shows a tourist questioning a temporary traffic restriction during security arrangements for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth.

The incident has sparked debate over entitlement and respect for security protocols in sensitive border areas.

Under the BNS:
🔹 Section 221 — obstruction of a public servant in official duty.
🔹 Section 223 — disobedience of a lawful order by a public servant, where the prescribed conditions are met.

These provisions can be applied after validating facts & evidence.

One can question authority & disagree. But national security cannot be treated as an inconvenience.

Seven years after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu & Kashmir remains a part of India's constitutional framework, yet some leaders still demand its restoration.

On 4 August 2026, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti again called for restoring Articles 370 and 35A, comparing it to the Ram Mandir donation theft case.

Earlier, JKNC MP Syed Ruhullah Mehdi raised the demand during NEET leak protests, shifting focus from student concerns.

Supporters call it autonomy and federalism. Critics note Parliament revoked it in 2019 and the Supreme Court upheld the decision.

Every stone has a memory. Every temple has a testimony.

As I travelled across Kashmir, I wasn't merely documenting ancient temples. I was documenting the surviving footprints of a civilisation that shaped this land for millennia.

These temples are more than archaeological sites or tourist attractions. They are enduring records of Kashmir's spiritual traditions, artistic brilliance, architectural excellence and philosophical contributions. They remind us that long before modern political narratives, Kashmir was a thriving centre of learning, culture and faith.

Yet many of these sacred spaces stand neglected, damaged or forgotten. Time has weathered them, but silence has endangered them even more.

A civilisation is not erased in a single moment. It disappears gradually, when its heritage is ignored, when its sacred spaces are abandoned, when its stories cease to be told, and when future generations grow up without knowing what once stood before them.

Preserving Kashmir's temples is not about looking backward. It is about ensuring that history survives with honesty and evidence. Heritage is not a political convenience. It is a civilisational responsibility.

If we fail to preserve these monuments today, tomorrow's generations will inherit silence where history once stood.

This is not just a journey through Kashmir.

It is a journey to reclaim memory.

They said "The Kashmir Files" is propaganda. They called it fiction. They trivialized the brutalities and atrocities we faced.

They mocked our gen0cide. They mocked our pain. They mocked our homelessness. They mocked our misery.

They silenced our voices. They've trying to silence us since 1990. They said we left Kashmir by choice, not force.

They call our forced exodus a migration.

But these homes that I filmed in Kashmir scream our pain, tyranny and truth.

Abandoned. Locked. Crumbling. 💔

You can debate a movie. You cannot debate abandoned houses.

Propaganda manufactures evidence. History leaves it behind.

The question isn't whether the film offended you.

Captured by R.C. Mehta in 1939, this rare panoramic photograph showcases the magnificent Bhavan Mattan Temple Complex, home to the Surya Temple, Ram Temple, Mata Temple, Shivalingam, and a Gurdwara, reflecting Kashmir's rich spiritual legacy.

The sacred Kund, fed by fresh waters flowing from Sheshnag Lake, is home to fish revered as manifestations of Mata Parvati. Even today, devotees gather here during Adhik Maas to perform Pind Daan for their ancestors.
