Some days I catch myself thinking, "If I didn't have kids right now, I'd finally get through my to-do list."

Then I remember: I had so. much. time. before I was a mom. What I didn't have was the drive.

Motherhood gave me a purpose that keeps me showing up, even when I'm tired and stressed, and Sky needs help with Algebra while Arrow needs a cardboard cut into a perfect circle. 😅

A good friend once told me, "Pag nanay, gagawin ang lahat." (When you're a mom, you'll do anything.)

To every mom building something while raising future rockstars: aja! 💪

What's keeping you going this week? Me? Honestly, money. 😂 by @ching_bitoon

I've always pictured it in my mind like this.

A big white fluffy sectional where all my kids, Gail, and I could fit COMFORTABLY.

For the longest time, movie night meant all of us squeezing onto a three-seater. Then Noah came along, the kids got bigger, and I'd end up dragging a chair over just so everybody had a spot.

When we first moved in, the house had a wooden bench set that had to go when we went from renting to buying. That left us with an empty space, so I wanted to mark the milestone with a couch.

But you and I know it was never really about the couch.

It's about having a place big enough for all of us to land at the end of the day. Movie nights, pile-ons, lazy mornings, everyone within arm's reach. After more than a decade of prayer, we finally have a place to call our own.

From making do to making room.

PS: Thanks @barnandalley for making my dream couch come true. You guys were so patient with us.

PPS: Of course the covers are washable. by @ching_bitoon

I'm very much aware that having people I can share the load with is a privilege. I am coming from a place of immense gratefulness for this.

With that, I also want this to be an encouragement to lean in and play to your strengths. For instance, I know it’s my calling right now to homeschool my kids, so their learning is something that I won’t delegate yet. But even there, we enlist the help of tutors, teachers, and coaches, kasi ano ba naman alam ko sa taekwondo bukod sa black belter si Jungkook. 😆

So here are the five C’s:

Cooking every meal

We are blessed with Ate Cathy who, according to Arrow, "cooks so well she should open a restaurant". She comes in once a week and cooks all our ulams for the next days.

Cleaning

Our house is faaaar from spotless, but every day, the kids have their assigned chores. It's hitting two birds with one stone - things get taken care of, the kids learn.

Client work

Though it might be more cash-efficient to do everything myself, it will compromise a huge chunk of my time. I have my sister alongside me to take care of talking with clients, and we only touch base once in a while, because she is much better than me at what she does.

Copywriting

I'm slowly learning to let go of writing for our brands. I trained AI to write like me, though my bestie gpt hasn't cracked my preferences fully yet. Should I switch to Claude?

Content creation

Between all three brands, we'd be drowning in deliverables if we didn't delegate. We have a small but strong team of creatives who thoughtfully create alongside us.

As they say, life is all about trade-offs. Time, money, energy - we all choose where these go, and that results to the kind of life we live.

Noah doesn't care which part of my timeblock I am on.

Try as I might to segregate my day into homeschool, work, quiet time, and everything else, this season just wouldn't work that way. One task bleeds into the next hour, schedules overlap, and Noah asks for a ten-minute chase around the house.

Sometimes I'm able to hold my ground and say no, but sometimes I say screw it and play with my kids. And then when I'm ready to get back to work, Sky comes in with a Math question.

My plate is full and I know it's not as big as I'd want it to be. So papagkasyahin natin ang kaya, knowing that the whole idea of balance (and control) is an illusion. by @ching_bitoon

One of my favorite things about homeschooling is being able to build my kids’ education around the way they learn, the things they’re interested in, and the rhythm of our family life.

I didn’t expect to enjoy the planning part this much, but there’s something so satisfying about seeing everything come together in Notion. I may have gotten a little carried away and spent two solid days mapping out our entire first quarter. 😅

Of course, I know the plan will change. We’ll move things around, linger on some lessons, rush through others, and probably have days when none of it goes according to schedule.

Of course again, leaving a lot of room for God’s grace to move in our homeschool. The point of planning isn’t to have a perfect year, but to give us something good to begin with. by @ching_bitoon

When I was a kid, I would randomly blurt out “sana mayaman na lang tayo,” to which my mom would answer

“mayaman naman tayo ah,”

Dramatic pause…

“Sa pagmamahal!”

Now that I'm older, I know for sure napakayaman ko sa pagmamahal. What a blessing.

But still I don't mind getting rich with money. 😆 by @ching_bitoon

In the routines of life, there are things that make me feel alive.

I still need to homeschool, still need to figure out how to get more clients for our brands, still need to tackle that pile of clothes on the couch.

But also, I'll put my feet up and read a good book instead of picking up clutter around the house.

I'll rewatch my favorite kdrama instead of a marketing course I bought last week.

Girl to girl, I highly recommend protecting your own bubble of tiny joys without shame or guilt. 🤍 by @ching_bitoon

The cutest pause button ⏸️

When we had Noah, we had to not just accept, but to embrace a slower season.

Having a third grounds us.

It forces us to focus on the most important, which, when you have little ones, are also the most urgent: things like spending time, setting a good example, eating healthy, praying - things that tend to be dropped first.

Everything else that would compromise those has to wait, and so we rest in the truth that whatever is on hold is held in the hands of the Lord.

May something sa three kids that makes it overwhelming. Maybe because it’s an odd number, so there’s an odd feeling. Gawin kaya natin even @gailbitoon ?😆 by @ching_bitoon
