Wow. To call this a close call seems like an understatement. Mason finished as the lowest amateur in the field at the 154 Open Championship but unfortunately missed the cut by one single stroke. His -1 round today was spectacular, and he showed more heart, grit and determination than I can even imagine. We are all so proud of him. After almost six straight weeks on the road, it’s time for a brief stint at home before heading to the next event. So very thankful for all of our family, friends and Mason’s team for all of the support this week and always. Keep knocking on the door, Moose. Open Championship Tuesday. Great practice round with JT Poston, Sepp Straka and Keith Mitchell. Weather is beautiful. Locals keep complaining about how “hot” it is. It 80 degrees with low humidity. They have no idea what South Georgia heat feels like! So thankful @meglhowell and @carte.rdavis arrived safely yesterday. Looking forward to another great day of practice! Monday from The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Mason played a practice round with Keegan Bradley and enjoyed having two of his “Best Mates” on the bag. His old Dad even got to carry for a few holes. Special day. Many thanks to the family and friends who came over (and are coming over) to support. Beautiful course and amazing weather. Thank you to the fine folks at The John Deere Classic for inviting Mason to play in this year’s event. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. This is truly a first class event. Mason especially enjoyed speaking at The First Tee breakfast along with other invitees. He also enjoyed having his good friend Shep Davis on the bag. Certainly hope to be back and play this one again! Now, off to the UK for The Open Championship! by @chiogolfdad
