What are you doing with your freedom?

Usually on a day like today my team is gearing up to serve the community, providing warmth and food for our most vulnerable community members but today is different.

Today we are prioritizing rest, growth and reset!

Over the last couple weeks we have been gearing up for some big things and needed the time as a team to learn.

Some exciting news @harvardhbs upswell program accepted us to be part of the 3rd cohort of leaders invited to be part of a year long training program ! So we took this opportunity to learn, meet new people and grow !!!!

We are using our freedom to learn how to better be of service to the community we hold near and true!!! taken in Harvard Business School by @chipbagproject

While we’re a global family, Detroit will always be home.

On 313 Day, we teamed up with Detroit-based nonprofit @chipbagproject to turn chip bags into something much bigger. With over 70 StockX team members from around the world, we learned how to repurpose Mylar (that shiny chip bag material) into sleeping bags for people in need.

Led by founder @erada34, the Chip Bag Project is reimagining community care through upcycling and creativity—right here in our city.

And yes, we may have tried to make the world’s largest sleeping bag out of Mylar (stay tuned).

Did you know cold weather can make everyday essentials harder to access for people experiencing homelessness or financial hardship?

Things like warm socks, gloves, hygiene products, and hand warmers can make a real difference during the winter months.

This winter, The Chip Bag Project is collecting essential items and financial donations to provide warmth, meals, hotel rooms, and other winter support.

it’s deeper than just “trash”

1. They don’t get recycled normally
2. They sit in landfills for years
3. The material traps heat
4. They can be reused into blankets
5. They can be repurposed into bags
6. They reduce waste when reused
7. They can help people stay warm

You ever finish a bag of chips and just throw it away thinking it’s getting recycled? yeah… it’s not.

chip bags don’t get picked up in regular recycling, so most of them end up in landfills. so we decided to do something different.

here in Detroit, we collect them and turn them into blankets + warmth kits for people who actually need them ♻️ same trash, different outcome. if you didn’t know this, share it link in bio to help.
