Another pic of me working out to say... I’m pumped (see what I did there ;)) to announce I’m teaching šŸ†• Off The Bike Strength classes at @soulcycle šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

I taught this class last week to our team at Soul and some friends and I’m excited to bring it to the schedule 4x a week

Catch me at Tribeca teaching Soul Off The Bike Strength. It’s rhythm-based, strength and sculpt work built around the parts of your body cycling doesn’t reach. We’ll use light to heavy dumbbells, resistance bands, intentional programming. It’s the same SoulCycle energy, just different equipment.

My weekly schedule:
Monday 6:45PM - Lower + Core Focus
Wednesday 6:45PM - Upper + Core Focus
Friday at 8AM - Full Body + Core Focus
Saturday 9AM - Full Body + Core Focus
Classes start Wednesday 9/9!

The only thing better than feeling good is feeling strong. Let’s do both. Book in the SoulCycle app and I’ll see you there āš”ļø

Here we go again…

I started riding at Soul about ten years ago on a visit to NYC. It was the thing I did to quiet my mind, move with others, and be around people who made me feel good.

I rode on Christmas when I didn’t have any plans and drove two hours to the closest studio the morning after a seven year relationship ended. I rode the day my mom passed away. The day my dog passed away… I also rode on A LOT of really good days. My birthday. It was the first place I wanted to take Elliott when we started dating.

I didn’t go on the hard days because I wanted to workout. I went to feel like I was part of something bigger than whatever I was carrying. And now I get to give that back, again.

My first official classes back:
Saturday 8/15 1PM E83
Tuesday 8/18 7:30PM NOHO
More to come! Find the rest of my schedule on the SoulCycle app!

Let’s towel whip and tap it back! See you so soonĀ šŸ’›

That post workout high šŸ˜ŒšŸ’¦šŸ«Ø

I hadn’t taught at @groundwrkphx in 3 years. I walked in not knowing what to expect and walked out remembering exactly why I do this. Thank you @christianmnelson and @rycoyle for having me. What you’ve built is something so special. Already can’t wait to come back! by @chiphh

Long and oversharing post ahead.

Last year, within a span of a few months, I lost my Mom and my (very first) dog of thirteen years. I didn’t process it right away because I didn’t want to. I told myself to keep going like I had during other parts of my life when things got hard. I told myself to keep showing up despite not really wanting to and I’d be able to move on. I thought that masking the heaviness and the emotion I was feeling by teaching my classes would make it go away. I taught three classes on the day of my Mom’s funeral. I taught just a few hours after my dog passed in hopes of running away from the pain that I didn’t want to feel. I thought giving to other people would be enough for me to move past the heaviness I felt. I was wrong. One day, it just all landed and it hit me. I was so overwhelmed with the heaviness and I wanted to get over it but I couldn’t. I was at a loss to try and figure out why pushing through wasn’t an option anymore — and I got really hard on myself about it, but I also couldn’t change it. I didn’t have the perfect childhood and my relationship with my family was complicated.. but as I’ve gotten older I realize that despite that, my parents were just doing their best, kinda like we all are.

Elliott took this pic of me on my birthday trip, wearing my Mom’s favorite bandana. I haven’t posted anything here in quite a while and it’s not really the norm for me to share this kind of thing. I’m not looking for a bunch of ā€œI’m sorryā€ messages but instead, I am writing this to say I’m sorry for those I’ve let down during this time when I was a more distant version of myself. This was the first time as an adult that I actually had to deal with grief and it hit hard. I’m so so so grateful for my partner, @elliottknouse, I’m grateful for my friends who have listened and offered endless amounts of support, and I’m really grateful for movement that’s felt like medicine. I’ve put off writing this because I wasn’t ready. I’ve put off sharing anything at all because it felt weird sharing something that wasn’t this because it’s the honest and real truth of what I’ve been going through. Thanks for listening and… thanks for sticking around. by @chiphh

We started something. šŸš€

Many of our friends and mentors are badass entrepreneurs and creators doing genuinely cool things in their spaces. We are inspired by them and often times even helping them. A website here, a launch there, an idea that just needed a brainstorm.

We believe in the power of relationships and community, and we love seeing people, brands, and ideas get the attention and flowers they deserve.

So we made it official!!! It’s called @theagen.ce. It’s for entrepreneurs, creators, and anyone sitting on an idea or an audience that hasn’t fully taken shape yet. We have a joke that we are not your average marketing agency, because we do more than just marketing.

More to come! Just wanted you to hear it from us first. taken in New York, New York by @chiphh

15 years ago someone believed in me before I believed in myself

I didn’t plan any of it. I started teaching fitness classes and just kept saying yes to things that scared me and people kept pushing me further than I could see.

I got lucky and I’ve never stopped asking myself how to pay forward what others have done for me. It led me here.

I recently got to spend time with the instructors at @theridelb. We rode first, then we sat down and talked about storytelling, your artistry, your why and how all of that comes to life through three pillars: presence, performance and community.

It’s not the music, not the choreography, not the lights. The experience you create is greater than the workout you deliver.

The team at The Ride is so lucky to have leaders who invest in their instructors this way, who understand that fueling their instructors’ growth and uniqueness is such a win. Thanks for having me, for sharing stories and for sitting through my very long powerpoint. I love teaching because it’s artistic, chaotic, loud and intense and I love even more when we get to nerd out together and push each other forward.

Here are some moments from our chat. I’m so grateful to get to do this!

13 years wasn’t long enough šŸ’”
I brought her home on her four month birthday and she never left.
When I took this selfie I had no idea that it would be my last pic with my two babies, together.
She was my best friend, the sweetest, most loyal, smartest and so damn stubborn.
She hated car rides, loved all humans, and loved her brother the most.
She calmed me down, hyped me up and was the light through so many dark times.

We will never stop talking about you, and never stop loving you, my sweet Liza girl šŸ¤ by @chiphh
