Just felt like posting a few more pics of Rocky (okay, more than a few), mostly of him being a bad dog. (Or, as we liked to call him, “sweet but quirky.”) An angry and defensive shelter dog turned into a sweet and loving lapdog over the nine years we had him in our lives. Even now, it’s hard to talk about him in the past tense. Even harder to believe he’s gone. by @chipriggsphotography

Got the chance to visit the beautiful and serene #fallingwater near Pittsburgh. Generally considered one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s greatest achievements, it’s built into the waterfall and is part of the nature around it. And finally the end of the Riggs family Reverse Beverly Hillbillies Trek Across America (tm)!

We made it to our final destination of Athens, GA, mostly intact and only a little the worse for wear. (Both dogs made it, woohoo! The plant will catch up with us later.)

I instantly regret the humidity. (Which you’ll see in my post-4th of July golf photo below.) Otherwise it’s good. Living in a smaller town again will take some re-adjustment for sure. But nothing a little sunshine and golf can’t fix! by @chipriggsphotography

RBH Day 9(!!)

It’s not as bad as you think. After a five day respite at my mom’s house in Louisiana, the journey continues.

But without the plant.

Don’t worry, it’s doing fine. We just left it in the hands of a lesser black thumb in the hopes that it will survive.

Rocky, on the other hand, seems to have hurt himself somewhere along the way. (He’s the little dog.) He’s a trooper, though.

Today was the 8-hour Southeast trek from Louisiana to Georgia. Meaning a whole lot of Mississippi and Alabama in the middle.

Day Two of the Reverse Beverly Hillbillies (if only dog breath was “Black Gold…Texas Tea!”). Lots of dust on this part of the drive. Many many dust devils, lots of cool cactii, but not a single tumbleweed.
