✨Lore’s long luscious hair✨

Does it make you feel jealous yet?! 😂 I’m joking. I mean it definitely makes me jealous because I cannot grow my hair that long 🙃

A few facts about Lore:
•He’s a part time librarian in Gora Park during evenings! (Hmmm why evenings?! You’ll see :> 😂)
•Callum’s bestie
•Does Motorcross
•Quite stoic unless he’s with Callum
•Fixes bikes/cars for a living
•He dreams of becoming a writer.

Last week I posted this BUT deleted it since I wanted to add a few more sketches - even some silly ones because I love adding Bun Bun to my work hahah

Also in the second slide that was the original hair style for Lore! But I had a quick thought of “hmmm what if”. Plus, long hair can be so hot on guys in my opinion.

I love how he just sits on him like a cat who was never invited but has decided this is his seat now. 😂

There’s something so soft about this kind of interaction. No words, no grand gestures….makes me melt a little. 🥹

I also tried to keep the linework a bit softer here, even though we can definitely tell Callum is quite well built. I don’t really want to define every single muscle group. I like it when the body feels softer? For this character anyway.

Lore is a completely different story because that boy is BUILT BUILT😂

Also, the little “Tap Tap” noise is something I like to imagine Jules’ footsteps sounding like lol. His feet just go tap tap tap everywhere. I loved the Untitled Goose Game. 🪿😂

Anyway…who else wants to be held like this???

Brushes are at the END of the video! 🎨👀

Wah! Finally, a small reel from me 😂 I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing with reels yet, but people seemed to like this piece, so I wanted to share a SUPER short process + a few of the brushes I used.

It had to be tiny because apparently Instagram Reels are allergic to me taking my sweet time explaining things??? 😭 I don’t even know if longer reels work anymore. Someone please tell me because I am simply painting and hoping for the best.

Anyway, as y’all know, I LOVE muscles. But when I paint them, I don’t want them to feel overly hard or shiny. I’m always chasing that softness you see in Renaissance paintings and sculptures, where you can still feel the structure underneath all that beautiful, gentle rendering.

And inverted shadows are currently my favourite thing to play with. They’re so weirdly satisfying once you start noticing how much they can change the form.

So here’s a tiny peek into my process. Save it if you want to try the brushes/process later, and please enjoy my ongoing battle with Instagram. 🫡🎨

Fun fact about Callum: every day after work, he feeds the stray cats and that one random crow behind the restaurant. He has a soft spot for animals because WHO DOESN’T?

Also, Ooh?! I had to post this sketch because I really like it. I have more ready for this one (including Jules 👀), BUT I wanted to give Callum a little spotlight first.

And yes, I know the book font is supposed to be on the other side of the cover. I wanted it visible, so we’re all just going to pretend it’s correct, okay? Thank you. 😂

This was HARD. 😭

I kept telling myself: “DON’T MAKE IT PRETTY!” because I wanted to learn how to pace very short stories.

And OMG the struggle. 😂

My instinct is to spend HOURS making every little thing look good, but this exercise was about pushing through, finishing the story and moving on.

I had to learn how to let go of the details, resist the urge to polish everything to death and just keep creating.

Turns out, finishing is a skill too which o need to polish 🫪

Anyway, here’s a silly story between Callum and Jules lol

It’s cringe and stupid. And I like it 😂

I tried playing around with colours this week because I was inspired by @_mika.sama__ cosplays 🥹

I wanted to find some fun combos between clothes and colours that I could experiment with, but guess what? I STILL ended up using the same brush for both linework and colouring lmao. I guess I’m just emotionally attached to it now 🐰

Starting next week, I’m gonna focus on learning how to tell little stories through silly panels. I think it’s finally time to stop being scared of trying it lol

Wish me luck pls. I’m gonna need it 😶‍🌫️😂

“𝑀𝒶𝓀𝒾𝓃’ 𝓂𝑒 𝒻𝑒𝑒𝓁 𝒽𝓊𝓂𝒶𝓃-“

Oh boy, another painting of Callum! And a very metaphorical one at that. 🥀

I really wanted to capture some of the feelings woven into my story with this piece. The almost inverted colours represent how one of our main characters feels from the inside. He’s vanishing, but somehow, there’s something strangely beautiful about it.

The red hydrangeas carry their own meaning too. Red can symbolise new birth, passion ignited, something beginning to burn. But it can also feel like a slow death, like an ache smouldering over a low fire.

Maybe it’s both?

More than anything, I wanted people who see this piece to feel something familiar in it. I think we all have moments in our lives when we feel like we’ve lost our sense of meaning or purpose, when we’re here but somehow feel like we’re disappearing. That’s what Callum is going through too.

He’s vanishing, but he’s still here.

And maybe that’s the most human part of it. It’s tragically beautiful.

A lil’ bit of thriller vibes for you.

I loved listening to this song while painting Callum - it’s about lost love and destructive relationships - and no……it’s not about Jules. Is about Callum’s dying fire. His passion is slowly burning down due to his lifestyle and dangerous environments he was forced into.

I LOVED drawing him like this. You can see a little bit of anger but also how tired he is. He’s not smoking, he’s holding a match that estinguished. Almost like his soul.

I’m into this phase where I love drawing symbolism and metaphors. I have another idea in my head and it’s more intimate but I think the concept is beautiful. AAAAA

How are you all surviving August?? Spooky season is almost there and I can’t help it but be excited lmao

I needed to post this before I lost my mind. The amount of times I change Callum’s eyes in the bottom right drawing is absolutely insane. And I’m still not happy with it 😂 however I love how Jules looks like in his embrace. Holyyyyy even tho it’s simple, I find it so cute how he cuddles in.

But yeah this week it was me struggling with colours 24/7 AAAAAA😂
