A woman I worked with in Louisville was in town over the weekend with her boyfriend and we had lunch together and laid eyes on one other for the first time in 25 years. If I’m grateful for anything about my radio career as I’ve managed to make a friend everywhere I’ve ever lived. By God, I lived a lot of places too. If anybody ever wants to look me up when they come to Chicago, I absolutely take them up on the offer. by @chishell76

Fun fact. The two new river steam paddle wheelers traveling along the Cumberland in Nashville are both Peoria’s former river boats. The Capitol used to be The Spirit of Peoria, and The Steamer Nashville used to be called the Julia Belle Swain, and I rode them and enjoyed them very much when I was a kid. I can still hear the calliope. It was always lovely to be crossing the river or be fishing at Peoria Lake, and the excursion boat would be entertaining passengers up and down one of America’s most scenic river valleys. Both have been renovated and they have a good new home where they will receive lots of love and ridership in a thriving city for generations to come. by @chishell76
