Currently learning how to work with PDF files in Python, and today I successfully built scripts to split PDFs into individual pages and merge multiple PDFs back into one using pypdf library

Next step: turning this into a full CLI PDF tool.

Day 13

I learnt about Lambda functions!

They are "anonymous" one-line functions used for quick tasks without the need for a full "def" block. I used them to build a Daily Auditor that compares my daily goals vs my results.

Built a small Python script that sends me motivational notifications while I'm on my system.

Used:
plyer : for system notifications
random: to rotate messages
notification.notify() : to trigger the pop-up

Built a terminal-based Dictionary using a real API.
Definitions, part of speech, synonyms & antonyms - all from the command line.
Learned to use ANSI escape codes to add colors to the terminal.

I'm working towards building a Voice-to-text Meeting Minutes tool with Python.

Today, I explored working with external libraries and modules, specifically the speech_recognition library, and learned how Python handles audio files.

I also practiced using the 'with' statement to safely open and manage audio resources, and understand how speech is converted from sound into text.

Just laying the foundation before building the full system.

For Day 8, I built a Pomodoro Timer - a tool that uses timed intervals (usually 25 mins of work followed by a 5-min break) to hack your focus and prevent burnout.

I learned:
State Management

Desktop Alerts: Integrated the Plyer library for native notifications.

Data Logging: Automated session tracking to a .txt file for a permanent productivity record.

I wrote a Python function that takes my list of dictionaries, uses the keys (name, phone, email, address) as column headers, and writes each dictionary as a row in a CSV file.
When the function runs, it automatically organizes all my data — ready to use outside Python. No Excel, no manual typing.

1. String Methods: Used .isupper(), .islower(), and .isdigit() to scan text.

2. Regex (Regular Expressions): Used re.search() to find complex patterns like symbols.

3. Boolean Logic

4. Tkinter

5. DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself): Used a dictionary to loop through requirements instead of writing messy, repetitive if statements.
