On Sunday, we learnt about the interpretation of scriptures. Some Christians claim the Bible is contradictory or not consistent, but that only reveals our unwillingness to delve into the details of what was recorded. Bible study requires diligence and attention to details.

To understand a passage or a verse, there are certain things you must figure out. You must figure out the context (pretext and post text). Find out the cultural background or the historical overview of the people who were being addressed at the time and also the words that were being used and how it applied in their day.

You try to read certain places in the Bible into our modern day context, hence you claim that the Bible is not consistent. Paul has been called a Misogynist by certain females because they claim he talked down on women, but this is a misconception borne out of laziness to study. We learnt the how of interpretation and I hope from this little I shared you were blessed.
