Readers may not remember what you said or wrote but they'll always remember how you made them feel, and sensory writing is how you make them feel what you want them to feel and sensory writing is using the five senses in your writing to make the reader visualise and feel what you're trying to portray✨

Day 3 of the SCW masterclass on Imagery and the Sensory writing made me see storytelling from another point of view fr

I always thought creative writing was easy, that you just need to pick up your pen and write without stress but I was so wrong 😭.

Yesterday was the opening ceremony and the first training of the storytelling and creative writing masterclass and it was very very enlightening for me in so many ways, I heard a lot of great people speak yesterday and I want to share some of the things I learnt about creative writing and storytelling with you guys

1. Practice makes perfectttt, this sentence cannot be emphasized enough, you can never be good at something you don't do every time, write write write.

2. You have to read as much as you write too , read well written articles and books.

3. A good storyteller makes their listener or reader feel like they are inside the story, you have to use your words to describe what they can feel, see, hear, touch and even smell, that way they won't forget it in a hurry.

4. Finally, Don't be afraid of criticism, it's necessary for your growth as a writer.

That will be all for todayyyyy 🤭, stay with me as I'll continue to share my creative writing and storytelling journey with you guys and a I want to appreciate JCIN UNIBEN for organising such an amazing masterclass, I've been anticipating this masterclass for a long time 😂@unibenjaycees

"Thank God it's Friday" 😔

I never really understood this statement until today, the first week of school for the year and it feels like I've been in school for a full semester 😔
I have a lot to say but let's just thank God it's Friday🤭

Enjoy some of the pictures and videos I could take regardless of all the fatigue😶 I was feeling .

Monday's session of JCIN UNIBEN Public speaking masterclass with Mr Oluwaseyi Odebode was incredibly impactful. I specifically learned a lot of things and I'm going to share some of them below:

1. You become better by speaking: You have to look for opportunities to speak maybe in your classroom, a meeting, an occasion and so on, you don't just say "I want to be a confident public speaker" and you just sit and do nothing when opportunities present themselves, raise your hand and speak, volunteer to speak.

2. You don't need to use big words when speaking: The simpler the words the better for you so that the audience can understand the information you want to pass across to them without difficulty.

3. Speech anxiety and stage fright can be caused by fear of judgement or rejection, past negative experiences, unpreparedness and perfectionism .

4. You can build your confidence as a speaker by adequate preparation, Practice, Positive self talk and so on.

This knowledge will be crucial for people like me that suffer from stage fright and speech anxiety when we want to speak in public 😌.

Speak Up!!!!!!!!!

I am really grateful for the valuable experience🤭 @unibenjaycees and @significantseyi
