One month ago marked our 20th Deltaversary, and to celebrate, we decided to go back to where it all began. We got together for a long weekend that reminded us exactly why our sisterhood has stood the test of time. And though our 5 (Rashida) and 6 (Whitney) couldn’t make it there physically, they were absolutely there in spirit and in love ♥️. We found the perfect AirBnB that gave us the space to reconnect, laugh endlessly, cry a little (maybe a lot) and simply enjoy being together again. Shoutout to our Tr3, Lena for bringing the sprinter van so we didn’t miss a beat when we visited Napa and campus. Napa needs its own post, but know that a time was had 🤭. Being back on the yard at UC Berkeley was surreal, to say the least, and it brought back all the memories including when we were Neos. And to be able to eat at the spots where we gained our freshman 15 was chefs kiss. The cherry on top was not only being with each other but getting to spend time with so many of our prophytes and neos who called, FaceTimed, and came out to show us so much love all weekend—including our Big Dean Carmisha, whose smile brightened up our whole weekend. Theres really no other chapter like DST-Kappa, and what a privilege it is to be part of it.As we reminisced, we stood in awe of one another and us. We started as twenty-somethings trying to figure life out, and now we are doctors, lawyers, educators, nurses, entrepreneurs, successful business owners, wives, moms, bonus moms, and aunties. We’ve been there celebrating and cheering for each other during the highs, and mourned and comforted each other during the lows. It’s funny to think about how we are all such different women with different paths and stories. Thank the Lord above that Delta, our common thread, brought us together and created a lifelong bond unlike any other.
