BEHIND THE VISOR is my cinematic short film exploring the reality of modern jousting from inside the armour.

Built around the voices of the jousters themselves, my film focuses on tension, impact and the moments before and after they charge down the list. Taking the viewer right into the heart of a tournament!

Filmed behind the scenes at this year's Royal Armouries Museum Easter Joust.

Directed, filmed, edited and scored by me 😁

Join two of the UK's best jousters as they train at @mc_dc_stunts HQ ahead of the @royalarmouriesmuseum International Joust next month!

In this fly on the wall type short we take you behind the scenes to show how these incredible athletes train both themselves and their horses for a tournament.

Watch closely as they adjust their grip, the subtle shifts in balance, the power behind each charge.

Training for a joust doesn't simply mean you just smash lances, it's centuries of tradition, honed to perfection on the training arena before the glory of a tournament!

Step back in time to the beginning of Tudor England with the outstanding Wars of the Roses LIVE at @warwickcastleofficial !

The legendary @knightsofmiddleengland brought history to life in this jaw-dropping, action-packed show with the thrill of epic live-action jousting that was bigger and better than ever!

Set against the stunning backdrop of Warwick Castle, this spectacular show recreated the battles between the houses of Lancaster and York with knights charging at full gallop, clashing in an intense display of horsemanship, skill and drama.

On my visit to the castle I was lucky enough to capture the action at the 2 daily shows and as usual I HAD to create a short film!

Sound ON! I've tagged who I know but if I forgot anyone don't hesitate to tag them!

Absolutely incredible work by all.... can't wait to see what WotR LIVE! 2025 will be!

Were you House Lancaster or York?

The inaugural Full Tilt Jousting: Origins tournament brought together jousters from across the world to compete, showcase their skills and help shape the future of the sport of modern jousting.

I was proud to play a small part in the event through the visual media for broadcast, capturing audio and creating graphics to capture some of the incredible moments that made this weekend so special.

Now, the dust has settled I've had chance to look back on the experience in my latest blog; sharing the story behind Origins and the incredible community that came together for this epic event!

The western shoot I did on Sunday may seem a bit of a step away from my usual footage of jousting, knights and castles, however, a little know fact is that I have been a country music fan since the 90's (yes I'm that old!)

When I was a kid my Dad had nothing but Garth Brooks, Dwight Yoakham, Clay Walker, Alan Jackson et al constantly on the car radio so this world has always been something I love. I even saw Garth Brooks way back when in Sheffield arena lol.

Plenty more cool clips to come from this awesome day with @english_rancher and Henry!

Two riders. Two horses.

No colour needed.

A few photos from my recent western riding shoot stripped back to black and white and built around the grit, movement and character.

The West is made for monochrome.

Derbyshire or Montana?! ...what a way to spend a Sunday!

Today I went down at Henry's yard to catch up with Henry & Jonny Browne AKA @english_rancher . A father & son duo who ride the Western Way, I went to try and shoot some epic, western style footage....and I think we got it!

These guys brought their A game today! There is plenty more to come from this shoot!

It’s been a while, but on Saturday we headed back to one of our favourite places; @horseandponyprotectionassocia

Set in such a beautiful spot, it’s the perfect place to while away a Saturday afternoon. A brilliant restaurant, beautiful surroundings and of course, some truly incredible horses. As always I never make a trip without the camera coming with me 😁

If you don’t already know about HAPPA, make sure you head over to their socials and see the amazing work they do to rescue, rehabilitate and care for horses and ponies.

It’s always a pleasure to visit — and we’re already looking forward to the next one.

More than fifty years after they had last performed at Gwrych Castle, the Knights of Nottingham returned as the headline act of the Grand Medieval Joust.

And this wasn't just a day of horses and lances.

It was theatre. It was spectacle. It was storytelling.

And, for more than two thousand people gathered beneath the castle walls, it was an opportunity to suspend disbelief and step into another world.

This episode was recorded on location in Gwrych castle where I sat with Sam, the leader of @knightsofnottingham
to hear all about the history of the team and how they keep on taking their incredible show around the country!
