When she was around 2, I really wanted her to try sushi… but she rejected it completely the first time—because of the gluey texture. I didn’t give up. Tried again… and got the same reaction. We even took her to different restaurants to try and slowly, she started touching it with her hands… (not eating yet). Then one day, after 6–7 exposures, I made a simple sushi at home… She noticed it… took a bite… and I was SO happy 💛 But what happened next completely blew my mind 😄 Next time we went out, she looked at the menu and said— “I want sushi.” We ordered it… and she had TWO full pieces 😳 And after that? She became unstoppable. Now she wants sushi everywhere… every restaurant… every time 😂 She fell in love with sushi… and our wallets slowly started crying 💸 Our monthly expense increased either in getting sushi ingredients at home or ordering outside Sushi 🍣 So yes… this is one “side effect” you might also notice 😄 Just a little warning from my side… before you introduce sushi to your child 😬 (Chiyoumum, healthy recipes, Sushi lovers, happy kids, healthy kids) by @chiyoumum
I used to think good parenting was about finding the right words to teach my child. But I’m learning that so much of it happens in the little moments—how I respond when I’m tired, how I speak to myself, and whether my actions match what I ask of them. ❤️ 📌 Save this carousel and share this with a parent who needs this as a gentle reminder that the way we show up every day shapes how our children see themselves and the world. A few things to practise: 💛 Choose calm when you can, and repair when you can’t. 💛Believe in your child, especially when things get difficult. 💛Teach values through everyday actions, not just instructions. 💛Celebrate effort, kindness and small wins. 💛Guide behaviour without making your child feel like they are the behaviour. We don’t have to get it right every time. We just have to keep learning and growing alongside our children. 🫶 💌 Share this with a parent who’s growing alongside their child. mindful parenting, conscious parenting, positive parenting, parenting journey, emotional safety, child development, gentle parenting by @chiyoumum
Parents Spirituality isn’t just about praying to God. It’s also about finding inner peace, practising gratitude, showing kindness, respecting others and being honest even when nobody is watching. ❤️ The intention behind teaching children these mantras should be to help them develop gratitude, kindness, faith and inner peace rather than simply memorising Sanskrit verses. Here are 5 beautiful mantras you can introduce to your children from a young age: 1. Om Gan Ganapataye Namah ॐ गं गणपतये नमः Meaning: I bow to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. When to recite: Before starting school, a new activity or any important task. 2. Gayatri Mantra ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः । तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं । भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥ Meaning: May the divine light guide our intellect towards wisdom and goodness. When to recite: During morning prayers. 3. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय Meaning: I bow to Lord Krishna, the divine. When to recite: Before bedtime or during quiet prayer. 4. Asato Ma Sadgamaya असतो मा सद्गमय । तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय । मृत्योर्मामृतं गमय ॥ Meaning: Lead me from untruth to truth, from darkness to light and from mortality towards immortality. When to recite: During evening prayers. 5. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः Meaning: May there be peace within me, around me and everywhere. When to recite: Whenever children feel anxious, before sleeping or after meditation. Don’t teach all five mantras together. Start with one and make it a little daily ritual. Explain its meaning in words your child understands and practise it together. The biggest gift we can give our children is not just teaching them to pray to God, but helping them develop faith, compassion, gratitude and a peaceful mind. ❤️ Share this with other parents who would love to introduce s by @chiyoumum
Children below 3 years Prioritise free play, pretend play and exploration. Don’t rush into structured classes like phonics, reading or writing that require children to sit and follow adult instructions. Let them learn naturally through play, family time and experiential play schools. Ages 3–5 years This is an important phase for social, emotional and physical development. I recommend starting with physical group activities that build coordination, balance, confidence and listening skills. Some options: * Gymnastics * Karate * Skating * Cycling * Swimming Group classes also help children socialise and learn from their peers. I wouldn’t prioritise one-on-one structured classes at this age. What about phonics and storytelling? Introduce these through playful experiences at home. Around 4+, depending on your child’s interest and readiness, you can consider one structured learning class. How many classes? * 3–4 years: One activity, 2–3 times a week. * 4–5 years: 1–2 activities, combining physical and learning-based activities. * 6+ years: 1–2 activities, 2–3 sessions each per week. Keep at least one day free for rest and unstructured play. 2 rules for parents: 1. Give an activity enough time. Ideally, commit for at least a year rather than switching every few weeks, provided your child is comfortable and enjoying it. 2. Don’t make quitting the first option. Understand why your child doesn’t want to attend. Help them build consistency and resilience, but don’t ignore genuine discomfort. Remember, the goal is to raise confident, independent and happy children, not children who are simply enrolled in multiple classes. Hope this helps! Every festive season, we look forward to family time, laughter, food and making memories. ❤️ But sometimes, in the name of traditions, we end up accepting things that leave us feeling judged, exhausted or uncomfortable. Maybe it’s time to ask ourselves: are our traditions bringing us closer or creating unnecessary pressure? ✨ This festive season, let’s remember: 🦋 Women deserve to enjoy festivals, not spend every moment cooking, cleaning and hosting. 🦋Children deserve respect for their routines, feelings and personal boundaries. 🦋Nobody owes explanations about their body, marriage, parenting or food choices. 🦋Gifts and elaborate celebrations shouldn’t become competitions or financial burdens. 🦋Family gatherings should feel safe, not like a test of how much discomfort we can tolerate. Traditions are beautiful when they bring love, connection and belonging. And it’s okay to change the ones that no longer serve us. 💌 Which one do you think families need to stop normalising? There’s so much fear and misinformation around microwaves, ovens and air fryers. But I believe we need to make informed choices, not fear technology. ❤️ In 2023, as I began my health transformation journey, I gave away my brand-new microwave. Not because it was harming my health, but because I realised I was reheating almost every meal out of habit, even when I had time to use my gas stove.I took a break from that habit and Two years later, I got a brand-new microwave-oven combo and an air fryer. This time, I started fresh—with a more mindful approach to using them. Here’s how I use them today: • Microwave: Convenient for quick reheating. I mainly use it on party days when I need to heat food quickly for back-to-back servings. I use microwave-safe containers and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. • Oven: Mostly for occasional baking. We use it just once or twice a month. • Air fryer: I use it to prepare batches of crispy namkeen, nachos and snacks for the week, with less oil than deep-frying. There’s nothing wrong with using technology. The goal is to make it work for us rather than become dependent on convenience. My personal choice isn’t a universal health rule. Every family has different needs, schedules and priorities. Let’s stop fearmongering and start making informed choices for ourselves and our families. You know that feeling when you look at your partner and think, “I’d choose you all over again”? ❤️ Sometimes, it’s not one big romantic moment that makes you feel that way. It’s the comfort of being yourself around someone, laughing over the silliest things, and knowing you have a teammate through life’s chaos. For me, love lives in the everyday moments. 🥹 💕 When he makes me laugh even when I’m having a terrible day. 💕 When we can be completely silly around each other without feeling judged. 💕 When he includes me in decisions, big or small. 💕 When we find time for each other despite our busy schedules. 💕 When an ordinary day together feels better than an exciting day anywhere else. Because long-lasting love isn’t about keeping the butterflies alive every single day. It’s about building a friendship, choosing each other, and making life feel a little lighter together. 🤍 💌 Send this to your partner if you believe the little things make the biggest difference! non-sexual intimacy, marriage, emotional intimacy, relationship goals, healthy marriage, couple connection, love and companionship by @chiyoumum
Have you ever procrastinated so much that you ended up becoming the biggest obstacle standing between you and your own goals? I have. And my 75 Hard journey taught me something I needed to hear: you don’t always lose because you’re incapable. Sometimes, you lose because you keep postponing the things that could change your life. 75 Hard was never just about workouts, water, reading, or following a diet. It was about discipline. Keeping promises to yourself, especially on the days when you didn’t feel like it. And sometimes, the hardest battle isn’t against the challenge itself. It’s against the voice in your head that keeps saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow.” So, here I am again. A new start, a new journey, and better lessons from the last one. 💓 This time, the goal isn’t just to complete 75 Hard. It’s to become the person who no longer needs to negotiate with herself to do what she said she would do. 75HardChallenge #75HardJourney #SelfDiscipline #Procrastination #FitnessJourney #WomenWhoTrain MindsetShift fitness, lifestyle, motherhood by @chiyoumum
This quick dinner bowl can be made in different variations to make it protein-rich! 🥗 The secret? Keep some boiled couscous in your fridge. It tastes delicious when served cold and makes putting together dinner so much easier. Here are 7 ways to add protein to your bowl: 1. Boiled chickpeas – Add a handful of boiled white chickpeas. 2. Edamame – A great plant-based protein option. 3. Paneer – Cut it into small cubes and add it to your bowl. You can even make fresh paneer quickly if you don’t have any ready. 4. Boiled sprouts – Toss in some sprouts for extra protein and texture. 5. Tofu – Add small tofu cubes for a simple plant-based option. 6. Sautéed mushrooms – Quickly sauté them with salt and your favourite seasonings. 7. Soy granules – If you have no other protein ready, sauté soy granules with salt and seasonings, then mix them into your bowl. My tip: Soy granules work particularly well here because they mix easily with the other ingredients. A little morning prep can make dinner so much easier, even on your busiest days! Save this idea for the days when you want a quick, easy and protein-rich dinner without spending too much time in the kitchen. ❤️ Share this with families who often reach home late and end up eating junk for dinner because there’s no time to cook a healthy meal. ❤️ (Easy meal ideas , healthy recipes , lifestyle, health , nourishment, chiyoumum, quick meals, busy families) by @chiyoumum

Send this to the friend or partner who’s always impulse buying ❤️ Every festive season, I tell myself, “Bas, iss baar sirf zaroorat ka samaan khareedna hai.” 🛍️ And then come the sales, influencer recommendations, and those tempting 60% discounts! Suddenly, everything feels like something we NEED. 😅 So, we’ve started following a few simple rules as a family to shop more mindfully. ❤️ Here’s what helps us: 🎁 Make a shopping list before browsing. 🎁 Wait 24–48 hours before buying something tempting. 🎁 Scroll less to avoid unnecessary purchases. 🎁 Set a festive budget and plan gifts in advance. 🎁 Ask yourself, “Would I buy this if it weren’t on sale?” Because a discount doesn’t mean you’re saving money if you’re buying something you never needed in the first place. 💸 This festive season, let’s focus on what brings us joy, not just what’s on sale. 📌 Save this post before your next festive shopping spree, and share it with someone who loves a good sale! mindful shopping, festive shopping, impulsive buying, smart spending, family budgeting, conscious consumption, financial habits by @chiyoumum
How I use these kitchen gadgets to make everyday cooking easier! 1. Sprout Maker: To make sprouts easily, so I can put together quick, protein-rich salads whenever I’m on the go. 2. Greek Yogurt Maker: To make thick, creamy yogurt that I can pair with chopped fruits, seeds, nuts, and different flavours to create a nutritious, protein-rich meal or snack. 3. Donut Maker: Especially for my daughter! While I’m busy cooking other meals, this little gadget lets me prepare snacks for her in the open kitchen without creating a mess. 4. Induction Cooktop: My extra cooking station! When all four gas burners in my closed kitchen are occupied, this saves me so much time. I also use it to make hot dosas and other meals that we can enjoy in the open area. 5. Grinder: My go-to for making protein shakes, smoothies, and other quick blends that can serve as easy, nutritious meals. The idea is simple: choose kitchen gadgets that make cooking easier, save time, and help you serve nutritious food without spending your entire day in the kitchen.
