SCARFACE aka FACEMOB 👑

Scarface didn’t just represent the South — he helped redefine what Southern hip-hop could be. 🎤🔥

From his legendary run with the Geto Boys to classic solo albums like The Diary and The Fix, Scarface built his legacy through raw storytelling, honesty, pain, wisdom, and some of the most respected lyricism hip-hop has ever heard.

His influence stretches across generations, and his name still commands respect among some of rap’s greatest MCs.

🏆 Where does Scarface rank among the greatest rappers of all time?

Remembering KEITH KEITH 👑🕊

Keith Keith, a founding member of the legendary Funky 4 + 1 passed last month @ age of 68. The South Bronx MC helped make history on February 14, 1981, when his crew became the first hip-hop group to perform on national television, taking the stage on Saturday Night Live and changing the culture forever.

The Night That Changed Everything

Before streaming, before MTV Raps, before hip-hop was a billion-dollar industry, there was a Valentine’s Day stage on Saturday Night Live. Introduced by Debbie Harry of Blondie, Funky 4 + 1 performed “That’s The Joint” for a national audience that had never seen anything like it. The moment was electric. It was proof of concept for an entire genre.

The crew, formed in 1978 in the South Bronx, included Sha Rock (widely recognized as the first female MC to reach a national audience), K.K. Rockwell, Jazzy Jeff, Lil Rodney C, Keith Keith, DJ Breakout, and DJ Baron. Together, they helped bridge the gap between disco’s collapse and hip-hop’s commercial rise, according to AllHipHop.

Why This Matters

Keith Keith’s passing is a reminder that hip-hop’s founding generation is aging. The pioneers who built this culture from block parties and park jams into a global force are leaving us, often without the recognition they earned. Funky 4 + 1 did not just perform on SNL. They proved that rap belonged on major American platforms. Every rapper who has performed on late night television, from Kanye West to Kendrick Lamar, walks through a door that Keith Keith and his crew kicked open.
