hi hi besties🫶 happy sunday! i know it’s been a while. i hope you’ve all been doing well & enjoying your summer ☀️

well… i’ve officially experienced the biggest reading slump of my entire life 🥲 i think we’re finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though.

I also realized that yearly reading goals just aren’t for me. i found myself thinking more about hitting a number than actually enjoying the books i was reading, and that’s the exact opposite of why i read. so next year? no goal. i’m just reading because i love reading & whatever number i end up with is enough.

current reads:

☆ alchemy of secrets by stephanie garber- 5⭐

absolutely loved this one. such an easy five-star read for me.

☆ wild reverence by rebecca ross

just started this one and i’m really excited to be back in a rebecca ross book 🫶

not too much else to report besides the fact that i’ve willingly given my life away to love island every night at 9pm 😂 i’m excited for the finale tonight… and also excited to get my evenings back.

May recap 🌷

What a beautiful month. May is always one of my favorite months of the year. It feels like a fresh start, the beginning of summer, and of course… Indy 500 month. Attending my first ever race and experiencing the Indy 500 in person was truly a pinch me moment and something I’ll never forget.

Outside of racing I’ve been slowing down with reading this year and honestly, it’s been refreshing. I’ve read fewer books than I normally would but letting go of reading goals has allowed me to enjoy books so much more.

Books I read in May:
📖 Our Perfect Summer (5⭐️)
📖 House of Sky and Breath (6⭐️)
📖 Fever Dream (4⭐️)

I’m also so excited for June. We have book adaptations, Love Island is back, and summer is officially here.

There is something about the Indy 500 that’s impossible to explain unless you’ve felt it yourself.
my first ever race experience and somehow it already feels like a place i’ve known forever.

i’ve been watching the Indy 500 since 2024, but being there in person is something i genuinely can’t put into words. hearing the cars on track for the first time, the smell of rubber in the air, the early mornings, and looking around at 300,000 people all coming together for the greatest spectacle in racing… this place is so special.

I couldn’t have picked any other race to be my first.

and @patriciooward i’ll continue rooting for you for as long as it takes until she decides it’s your turn. because i truly believe one day it will be 🧡
