taking my final bow felt so much harder than I ever expected. dance wasn’t just something I did for fun; it became my escape when life was too much to handle. there were times when I felt lost and overwhelmed, but walking into the studio gave me a reason to keep going. my teammates/coaches, and the memories we created together helped me through moments i didn’t think I could handle. dance gave me a way to express feelings I couldn’t always put into words and reminded me that I was capable of more than I thought. it hurts tremendously knowing this chapter is ending because it was such an important part of my life and i’m not sure what i’ll do without it. competitive dance gave me friendships, confidence, and memories I’ll carry forever. even though I’m saying goodbye, i’ll never forget how much dance helped me grow and how much it meant to me when i needed it most. by @chloe.riska

if you were to ask me what my biggest regret is, i’d probably say becoming friends with julia and marina. not because they were bad friends—quite the opposite, actually. them coming to america might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
unfortunately, they’re foreign exchange students from spain, and today they officially left kansas. even though i’ve only known them for a short time, it feels like i’ve known them forever. they’ve made such a huge impact on my life, and i’m so grateful for every memory we made together.
i’ll love you two forever. please don’t forget that i’m always just a call away. by @chloe.riska
