Far Enough is out everywhere 💖

Three years ago, I released a single called “Anthem of My Soul.” At the time, I was planning on recording an EP. After that release, real-life loss hit, and I would sit at the piano with nothing to sing. Months turned into years, and I couldn’t write a song for the life of me.

I thought this chapter of my life had truly closed until I had my daughter, Charlotte, who was a promise fulfilled. After she was born, the songs came back. My intimacy with Jesus went to another level, and I started this journey toward an EP.

Far Enough is the sound of healing in motion. It’s whimsical, light and joyful, just like the last year and a half of my life. 💖

Believing you are ugly will ruin your life pt. 2.

Submit yourself to Scripture.

I had to be honest with myself:

1. I valued the world’s definition of beauty more than the Lord’s.
2. I disrespected these verses by treating them like clichés instead of the powerful remedy to my insecurity.
3. I believed I was somehow the exception to truth. Why? Because I knew better than God?? 🫠
4. I treated self-hatred like a cute personality trait instead of seeing it for what it was: a distraction from my assignment on this earth.

Surrender.

I had to painfully surrender my arguments and submit my thoughts to truth over and over again until truth became second nature in my thought life.

How did I do it?

I memorized these Scriptures, studied commentary on them, and spoke them out loud whenever a thought of self-hatred or insecurity came up. by @chloeannmack

Someone mentioned that they didn’t like their nose, and my first thought was, “What is she talking about?” My second was, “I’ve genuinely forgotten what it feels like to hate myself.”

I haven’t forgotten because I finally made it—checking every box to fit the standard of beauty the world preaches. I’ve forgotten because I started submitting my thought life to Biblical truths about beauty. And over time, the lies that once felt so true started to look really weak.

why do we take it so lightly that we’ve been resurrected? We forget what He’s done all too soon and desperately search for the next high. There’s a deep joy in remembering the God who saw us in that dark night of the soul and had a plan to give us life even when we felt there was no hope. He’s not a Sunday karaoke song, although those are good too. He’s literal resurrecting power by @chloeannmack
