vulnerable post, because something needs to be said:

Lately, I’ve been falling into the overconsumption culture WAY too much. I scroll on TikTok, see the next best thing, convince myself I need it, and buy it. Whether it’s the newest outfit, skincare, or makeup product, I “need” to have it.

Now, you may not think that’s the worst thing. But when we look at it from a biblical perspective, there’s more to consider.

Are we practicing contentment, or constantly chasing more?

Philippians 4:11-13 reminds us that contentment is something we learn. Yet, social media constantly tells us that what we have isn’t enough. There will always be another trend, product, or aesthetic promising to make us happier.

Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
-This doesn’t mean owning nice things is wrong, but it challenges us to examine where our hearts are and what we’re prioritizing.

God calls us to be good stewards of what He has given us (1 Timothy 6:17-19), not to spend our lives chasing temporary things that can never truly satisfy us.

Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

I’m learning that just because I can buy something doesn’t mean I need to. I want to be more intentional with my money, grateful for what I already have, and mindful of what influences my wants.

Maybe the goal isn’t to have less just for the sake of having less, but to stop needing more to feel like we have enough.

We can enjoy what God has given us without allowing what the world offers to become what our hearts are chasing. At the end of the day, no trend or possession can provide the lasting fulfillment that only Christ can. 🤍

This post isn’t aesthetic or something that culture would applaud, but it’s important that we stick together as christian’s and lift each other up, even when the world tells us to do it a different way. by @chloebaltrusch

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!🥳🤍 I love you with my whole heart. Thank you for being who you are. I love your heart for Jesus and the way you truly love and care about everyone around you. Even though we may be miles apart, I’m grateful our friendship has never felt distant.

Grief, heartbreak, and pain.

If you asked me just a few months ago, that’s how I would’ve described my year.

But somehow, right in the middle of it all, God kept showing up. In the quiet, in the waiting, in the moments I didn’t think I’d make it through — He was there.

This year reminded me that God’s goodness isn’t dependent on my circumstances. He met me in the broken places, restored what I thought was lost, and showed me what true love really looks like.
