As a child, part of me always felt empty because I had no parents. As I matured, I realized that I was completely overlooking this. You were my parent. A parent is a role model and the biggest influential being in a child’s life. You were both of these things for me, if not more. I may have had moments in my life where I was upset, but that didn’t matter because I had you. We were like two peas in a pod, wherever I was you were. Everybody would always say,” Chloe and her maw maw.” You made up for any trauma, pain, or heartache I experienced in life. Losing you has been one of the hardest things I have ever endured. I not only lost my parent, but my best friend. I also lost a huge piece of myself. I never let myself truly grieve your death, until recently. The memories and good times with you is all I have left to hold onto. The only sensible thing I can think is that God needed you more in heaven than here. You filled your life’s purpose here on Earth as an amazing grandmother and mother. I thank God everyday that I had the opportunity to have someone like you in my life. They say in life you will come across one person you have a unique, special bond with. A bond unlike no other. I had this bond with you. From the moment I was an infant, we had this irreplaceable bond. You were a huge piece of my heart, as I was of yours. No one will ever be able to fill this piece of my heart that you encompassed.

The unconditional love we had for one another is what makes the pain so heavy. Yet I’d go through my grief again and again to experience the love I had with you.

I love and miss you everyday. I hope you are having fun with all of our family. I pray that I can be half the person you were. by @chloecatherine_23
