POSTS STORIES REELS

I am SO excited to share that my documentary short film, They Called Me a Rabble-Rouser, will be making its festival debut at the Maine International Film Festival. I made this film last fall as a student at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies at Maine College of Art & Design, so it feels very full circle to be screening here in the state that I love so much and now call home. Special thank you to Jen Bella— I am so grateful that I get to share your story with even more people! 🟩 Screening at the Waterville Opera House on July 18th at 4 PM and July 19th at 1 PM 🟩 by @chloechloenk

Tonight, my documentary short film, The School of Rocky, makes its festival debut at the opening night of @reelpridefresno (one of the oldest LGBTQ+ film festivals in the country!) In two weeks, I’ll be attending @appalachianqueerfilmfest to see my film on the “big screen” for the first time, at a festival whose mission is so dear to me.

I created this film about 9 months ago to apply for @the_salt_institute, where I am currently studying documentary film. In those 9 months, I have learned so much, especially while working as a full-time videographer this summer, and have so much to learn from the Salt Institute over the next few months. My journey in documentary filmmaking is just beginning, and there’s already a lot I would do differently if I were to make this film now. Nonetheless, I’m very proud of it, proud of the story I tell, and proud that other people see value in something I created.

I may have filmed and edited this film entirely myself, but there wouldn’t have been anything to film or edit, no story without @theschoolofrocky. For them, I am incredibly grateful. by @chloechloenk

life update: i moved to maine to go to @the_salt_institute but it’s over and i just live here now and that’s pretty cool. by @chloechloenk

for a while now i’ve been thinking about what i was going to say to encapsulate this summer but now that it’s over i still can’t find the words. it’s been incredible. call me cheesy but all i can say is take the risk, even if you are scared. it might be the best decision of your life. #epicsummer by @chloechloenk
