This summer was a lot different than I thought it would be. There were so many moments where I felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and just tired in a way that sleep couldn’t really fix. Some days I didn’t completely feel like myself, and there were moments when everything felt a little heavier than usual.

What started as something I did to clear my head 2 years ago, slowly became one of the biggest things that saved me. Running gave me somewhere to put everything I was feeling when I didn’t know how to explain it. It gave me peace when my mind felt too loud.

There were mornings when getting out the door was the last thing I wanted to do, but those ended up being some of the runs I needed the most. Running taught me that discipline isn’t about always being motivated or having everything together. It’s choosing to show up for yourself anyway. It’s keeping promises to yourself when nobody else is watching. It’s realizing that sometimes the biggest victories have nothing to do with your pace, your distance, or what your watch says at the end, or even the strava kudos (iykyk).

I think I needed running this summer more than I ever realized. It reminded me how strong I can be, but it also taught me to give myself grace. It gave me something to be proud of during a time when I really needed that.

And now, after all of the early mornings, hard days, tired legs, quiet miles, and choosing to keep going, I finally get to race again in two weeks in the hometown.

There’s something really special about getting to come back and race in the place that i call home in front of the people i love. I’m not the same person or runner I was when this summer started, and I think that’s what makes this one mean so much more.

Two more weeks. Home roads. A grateful heart. And a version of myself that I fought really hard to find again.

Cannot wait to see what this racing season holds 🫶

As I begin my NYC marathon training block, just wanted to remind everyone running or no that YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS!

As someone who is very stubborn and struggles with self forgiveness, running has taught me to just be present and thankful for the life I have been given. I know these next few months will not be easy, but I know it will make me so much stronger both mentally and physically as a human being. That is my goal. This race is what I wanted for my 21st birthday. Not any materialistic things, but to prove to my younger Chlo that I can do whatever I put my mind to! And so can you;)

HAPPY GLOBAL RUNNING DAY! 🌎🏃‍♀️
Not trying to make a sappy post, but just wanted to share a little bit of my story:

Growing up I was a dancer and ended up pursuing it for 15 years. I made so many life long friendships and cherishable memories that I wouldn’t trade the world for. However even growing up dancing everyday, I have always had a love for sports; being athletic is just part of who I am! I love the outdoors I love nature I love moving my body, but never did I think RUNNING would be something I would actually enjoy. Post-COVID I started to see running more present on social media but never did I really give it a thought until I left for school. The first few weeks being away of course were not all perfect but I knew Clemson was the place to be. I would see people out running or walking and because I’ve always loved to walk, I started doing so! I honestly wish there was a reason for this but one day I woke up and had an idea if I can still run a sub 9:00 minute mile. 9:00 was definitely ambitious.

So, I took it upon myself to run a mile everyday. I wasn’t forcing myself to like it, but I actually looked forward to doing it. Eventually I knew I wanted to run a race and signed up for a local 5K back home in Charlotte. I trained not for speed but for stamina, knowing if I had stamina, speed would come along with it, to an extent.

After running my first 5K I knew this was something I would want to do. I decided to reach out to @whatthefickclt to get more insight about the Disney races!

In April of 2025, I was waiting to go into my math final when I get a call asking for info for a race. Didn’t know which race or WHICH COAST it was on but of course I said yes.

On Febuary 1st, 2026, I ran my first half and on Febuary 28, I ran my second half (how ironic). I’ve ran multiple 5Ks some 10Ks 2 Halfs and now I am training for the NYC Marathon on November 1.

I told myself at the start of this journey I wanted to run a marathon before I turn 21. It is so fulfilling to know that I am chasing goals and dreams not because I feel like I have to, but because this is what I love to do.

Running is my why and I cannot wait to see what it has in store for me 🫶 by @chlolovesrun
