We are in PEAK spooky season friends. The temps are finally not in Hell here in Ohio 🍂(ignore that it will be 90° on Thursday). So what better way to ring in the season than cozying up with a book?

Don't know what to read? Don't worry! I gotchu! Here's a list of 50+ titles from BIPOC authors. It's mostly horror, but I did sneak some romance, manga and omegaverse in 🤭 Happy reading 🖤🧡

Recent book mail and library checkouts!

Can we talk about this edition of An Arcane Inheritance from Satisfaction!? STUNNING

Also got the German edition of Blood & Betrayals. I mean, how could I not? I also have Sorrow & Strangers on the way 🤭 I don't know when I decided I needed every edition Avalon University, but it's happening now so

As for my library reads, I got Love Me to Death and Accidental Assassin. I honestly need to get back on my Webtoon game, cause clearly I'm missing out! Very excited to read these.

And lastly, I've been wanting to get into Catherine Cowles since I read her Amazon Original novella. So I've decided to start with her current series and work my way back. And I may be more motivated cause I was sent a widget for the third one 😅 yes, I can probably read them out of order. But I won't cause WHAT IF I MISS OUT ON EASTER EGGS.

Anyway what book mail have you received lately? What have you checked out from your local library? by @chlosterreads

Pre-ordering a book for a specific piece of art? That sounds exactly like something I'd do.

Grim Tidings, one of my most anticipated reads of the year. If @authorbkborison writes it, I will read it. Thank you so much @eastcitybookshop 🖤 by @chlosterreads

Happy release day to Sorrow & Strangers! Bring the tissues cause you will need them friends! The first 30 chapters are very heavy. So take care of yourself.

Last month I was accepted into the @r0seandstar ARC team. A DREAM!! And not only that, I was gifted a character ARC of my girl Alice. I start crying every time I think about it. Cause what do you mean little ole me was gifted something so special!? I put her promptly back in her box after these pictures cause I don't have anywhere to display her and I don't want anything to happen to her 😅

Alice is ... So special to me. She is who I hope my friends see me as. I want to be the Alice to your Summer. I will pick up all your pieces when you feel broken, so I can glue you back together and we can keep reigning chaos. This book is about Summer dealing with her grief and Alice plays a huge part in helping her get through it. I'm also just in general so afraid to talk about Alice out loud cause I'm afraid the authors will take her from me LOL I don't care care who Summer's endgame is. I just want her and her true soul mate (Alice) to get to the end together (with Steve).

Thank you once again Alexis Rune and Jeanette Rose for writing these characters. For giving me this community of people to spin with. You are quite literally stuck with me forever now, sorry not sorry. And a quiet thank you to Debra for everything you do behind the scenes and wrangling these two. 🖤 by @chlosterreads

7 more days until Sorrow & Strangers is out! Have you preordered your copy? Have you read Blood & Betrayals!? If the answer to either of those is no, you need to get on that NOW!

There is still time to preorder from a participating indie bookstore and get a secret character pin!

This series has truly consumed my entire being. Read it, join the discord and come spin theories with us!

In honor of @dollyparton I wanted to share everything I currently have checked out from my library (not pictured the holds on Libby obvi)

I am so lucky to have @cincylibrary as my local library. We have one of the best library systems. I know this to be true because I have 7 library cards and this one gives the most holds on Libby AND Hoopla so you can trust my word lol

Dolly was such an advocate for literacy and we NEED to keep that legacy alive. Libraries everywhere are losing funding. Libraries are so important. Not only can you check out books and movies to your heart's content (but please return them when you're done so more people can enjoy them), you can also check out a telescope at some, get a birding kit, some of them have seed libraries. Some have makerspaces where you can do so many things like print designs on tshirts, make flyers, buttons and film videos and record podcasts.

So on this Wednesday, I encourage you to visit your local library. After you've picked up your kid from school, when you're done working that 9 to 5... Pop into the library. Check that your card is renewed. Don't have one? Get one! Check out the new releases while you're there. Maybe you'll find something that catches your eye.

And if you're able donate to @imaginationlibrary so they can continue to send books to young kids in Dolly's absence. Keep the legacy alive!!

(Also please ignore the confetti ... Actual grid post for that coming soon) by @chlosterreads

D23 Day 3 Dump

This day was spent standing in the lines we didn't want to the previous days and checking the stores to see if things we'd been thinking about were still there. We also got to see Alan Menken perform and speak about his career. He also teased something about a Broadway Tangled 👀 by @chlosterreads

D23 Day 2

It's Percy Jackson's birthday, so it feels fitting to post the Percy filled day.

We got to meet the cast! It was looking a little iffy at first, but then the line started moving and we luckily got to get our pic with them. If you haven't watched Percy Jackson and the Olympians yet on Disney+ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I need them to do the whole series AND Heroes of Olympus.

Also got to meet @itsemilymcintire! She's going to be releasing a graphic novel and I cannot wait!!

Also got a little freak out in the middle of everything cause despite me trying not to see if I'd be receiving a character ARC from Rose&Star they sent a shipping notification anyway and I'm so excited to see who I get.

Last highlight of the day was crying a lot at the Rewind concert. They also brought out Jim Cummings and Bill Farmer and hey did their voices and I was just not okay by @chlosterreads

D23 Day 1 Photo Dump

The first and last slides are my favorite 🥰 Live entertainment is important so every time I heard music, I stopped to listen. The archives have been the coolest installation so far for me personally. I love seeing all the props from different shows. There was a Lego replica of the Pirates ride which was absolutely incredible by @chlosterreads
