I so wish I could be in Brooklyn right now to witness this moment, Seydou Keïta: A Tactile Lens, open at the @brooklynmuseum. 🧡

Being part of this exhibition through sound has been one of the most meaningful creative honors of my journey. Seydou Keïta’s portraits have long felt like sonic memories to me, images that hum, breathe, and remember. Creating a mix alongside @nilerodgers for this show became a way to let those memories move again through rhythm, voice, and vibration.

Thank you deeply to curators Catherine E. McKinley and Imani Williford for bringing this vision to life, and to Nile for the collaborative opportunity and for opening a space where my sonic creativity could meet Keïta’s timeless lens.

Though I can’t travel to the United States to experience the exhibition in person, my heart is there in every frame, every rhythm, every trace of dignity and love that Seydou’s sitters continue to radiate.

Had the great privilege of visiting @kusewera today!! ❤️

Such a beautiful space where children and youth are given the tools, community and freedom to discover what’s possible for themselves… through education, sports, health, creativity and mentorship, and soooo much more ❤️
Shout out to @karenosborn22 and the team for this beautiful, magnificent vision and space that’s breathing life into so many dreams. I’m absolutely in awe of what you have created and continue to build. So much love lives here. ❤️

ALSO SO Great to see mini @temwa556 and the sports programs you’re breathing into here ❤️🇲🇼 taken in Lilongwe, Malawi by @chmba

🥁A special feeling to be part of this conversation with @rollingstoneafrica alongside visionaries & inspirations @bunxapa @kylewatsonmusic and other artists shaping African electronic music.
““Most imagine the Afro-electronic music I make as something of the future, but for me it is also a way of carrying my memories, our tradition, and identity into the new spaces I encounter. Malawi isn’t simply where I was born. It’s shaped the sound of my childhood; it is how I hear rhythm and move to it and now how I approach creating music,” Chmba said.

That idea of memory is important. Electronic music is often imagined as futuristic and a sound that appears to have no connection to the past. But for Chmba, it provides another way of carrying history forward.

The future doesn’t have to mean abandoning the past. It can mean finding new ways to express it.

“I’ve never seen my culture as something that limits me. I find it rather as a foundation, my core, my family, my roots springing out to take surface. Making music and being part of my community have always gone hand in hand for me. They both come from the same place of wanting to serve and add to my community, wanting people to feel seen, and be connected. My culture isn’t something I reference. It’s the foundation I create from,” the singer shared.“” 🥁

🎛️A new chapter begins. ✨

Over the past few months I’ve been rebuilding, expanding my sound, experimenting, dreaming even more.

I’m thrilled to share that I’m joining the Roland artist family as I step into this next season of creating.

Thank you @rolandglobal for believing in the vision. Having new tools to experiment with, perform on, and push my ideas further is a massive gift 🧡

So we begin…
