Cody McEntire with one of the best executed tricks down the famous gap. Did he get end up “getting fucked up tonight”I don’t remember so haha I don’t really understand how you do that trick down this gap with that much speed and somehow catch it so perfectly. The uphill landing is not easy. He was the king of nollie big spin variations. He was a classic skate guy, could do every trick, skated everything. Quiet personality. Ripped at contest. Andrew Mapstone was the backbone to all these sessions. He pumped sessions and photos out like he lifted weights. Thanks Mappy love you man.

@chrispfanner is an absolute man on a skateboard. Fast, simple, gnar gnar. He muscled the shit out of this rail. Took some good as slams too. Epic human, always good vibes and about the crew. Big team player and was always a joy to around. Hope your good pfan man. Love you long time!

Scott Standley aka Ballajuana aka best sleeper in the world. There was some great skaters who could really sleep but this man was the best sleeper by far. He was also one of the most naturally gifted skateboarders I ever skated with. It was all so easy, his style, his choice of tricks. He came to him really easy and it was much of a fuss. This is my favourite switch flip I’ve ever filmed. He was a great human and if I understood Ballina and the area he came from more when I was younger I would have understood him more. The whole pro skate life isn’t for everyone and I think when he spent time over in the USA he just missed home and his friends. Hope your good Scotty.

@silasbaxterneal is unbelievable to witness in real life. I have @davechami to thank for having me on this session. We were side by side for a lot of years and his charming and calming presence was always a pleasure to be around.
This spot has seen rare tricks over the years, it looks so sick on camera and photos. On reflection I really enjoy been the 2nd camera, I love this clip cause I was able to just get a simple angle but I think it highlights the trick really well and would compliment the other angle really well.
Silas is a soul of the earth SOTY. I feel like his forgotten sometimes as a SOTY but there aren’t many ATV guys that still skate to the same level. Sustaining a career for as long as he has is a testament to his love and appreciation for skating.

Amazing to see Bacynzski in the footage too.

@shecks outta the van and did this without to much of an effort. He tried to Ollie it and didn’t make it and went straight for the frontal. Don’t think to much has been done besides this? This was right around the time he had the show on mtv. I think he probably enjoyed coming out to sydney to just skate and not be bombarded to much. Real nice guy, well mannered and nice. He was somewhat mis understood and given a hard time for that show at this time. What’s undeniable is his ability on a skateboard and at the end of the day his skating did the talking and it was loud. The period after the show he really went for it, was sick to witness.
Oh crazy how good the volcom team was throughout the years. This was peak @nickdompierre and @darrellstanton time too.

Lewis Marnell doing things in Sydney. I will never get bored of the sounds of his Pop, flip, catch and stomp. He just had all the flip tricks and he did them all with lion power and mixed it with grace. Razor sharp precision, followed by a fat doobie, chill and do it all again. Not many did it like him and not many ever will. It hurts to not be able to see him, I miss his presence a lot, I’m sure we all do, shit hurts. Feel blessed and fortunate to have been in his presence and got to capture these moments to share with everyone else. He was a man of the people, super well mannered and had such great morals. His friendship was real and he was always honest.

Everyone's favourite muse Ryan Hoani Wilson. I believe he got this tattoo for a fallen friend Bryce. Using Elliott Smith lyrics in dedication. Somehow we eventually visited Elliott's mural wall in East LA together. I have a photo that shows his thoughts of the significance of the occasion. We listened to alot of Elliott Smith in that period. His been a constant in times of joy and sadness.

@olsonstuff doesn’t need an intro. His been one of every skaters favourite skaters. I love this era of Alex, he had the perfect mix of sponsors for his personality. He came out to Sydney to skate with @mikeomeally . I don’t remember it been anything specific, he was just good friends with Mike and @ibanezbailey . Maybe a Transworld interview was the excuse.
One of the things I love about showing these clips is I’m able to let them breath in a way that edited video parts don’t allow. Alex skated fast, he knew how to properly ride a skateboard with flow. The power slides, his push, it all flowed really easily. He was the perfect mixture of skaters past, the front feeble is classic Mike Carroll, the 360 flip alittle BA, could watch it all day really. I was lucky enough to film with him once the HD era came in and will post sometime in the future. Sick to see his got a family and he chases his passions. He always did things his own way and what he did with his brands and love of music is awesome.

This is Steve, sorry it’s Joe Pease (@joepease . Originally from the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland. If you’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with him you know his a unique, funny and loveable human. His incredible on a skateboard, skated fast, could flip into anything, skate a terrain and had a style that matched his personality perfectly. I lived with him and Chad Bartie in San Diego, they were great souls of the earth people to live with.
You’ve probably seen Joe’s become quite the freak artist now. Mind bogging work he does and it sums up his brain pretty perfectly.
