a little about me and what I do my work is an ongoing exploration of color, how it moves, changes and creates different feelings I’m interested in the transitions, between colors, between emotions, between control and chance this is where I share that process, the things I’m learning and the paintings that come out of it if you’re new here, welcome by @chojnacki.studio
atmosphere started with a simple idea: to explore color in the moment of transition - one shade shifting into another I work with diluted acrylic, water and gravity, letting the paint spread, merge and move through the canvas. I guide the process, but I don’t fully determine the result that is what makes each painting different. some become quieter some become heavier sometimes one color takes over completely the collection is still evolving, but these are 10 works I keep coming back to which one stands out to you? atmosphere | maroon khaki sold this painting has a special place in the collection. it was one of the first pieces where I realised I wasn’t looking for a simple gradient. I wanted the transition between colours to create movement - for one colour to push into another, overlap, and change as it moves through the canvas. it was a small shift in the idea, but it changed the direction of the work that followed. currently in berlin, germany. atmosphere | burgundy blue sold this was the first time i brought two of my favourite colours together — burgundy and blue. one of the early works where i was still searching for the voice of the collection, exploring how these two colours could meet, overlap and create movement between them. currently in bogotá, colombia. atmosphere | burnt red green II this painting was part of a three-piece study where I focused on layering. I was interested in how adding one layer over another could soften the transition between colours and create more depth without making the painting feel heavier. these works helped me find a calmer voice for the collection - less about the movement of the paint itself, and more about the atmosphere it creates. one of the three has already been sold. two are still available. atmosphere | navy red khaki III another piece from a series of small colour studies I made early in the collection. these works helped set the tone for what „atmosphere” would become. two of the studies are sold. this one is still waiting. atmosphere | burgundy khaki a revisit of an earlier colour palette - red and green, this time in deeper, more muted shades. A Work about tension, somewhere between darkness and light. I’m interested in capturing feelings that are difficult to put into words. Moments of stillness, subtle tension, or a shift in atmosphere In this painting, burnt umbers and softened shadows evoke a quiet, almost suspended atmosphere, with a subtle tension beneath the surface. A moment suspended between shadow and light atmosphere | burnt umber 150 x 130 cm 2026 acrylic on raw canvas by @chojnacki.studio

atmosphere | black III 180 x 130 cm 2026 acrylic on raw canvas available atmosphere | black III 180 × 130 cm 2026 acrylic on raw canvas available What begins as a black painting reveals something more complex on closer inspection. Where the black meets the white canvas, color gradually enters the composition, creating a subtle transition between black, color, and the raw canvas. The work shifts depending on how closely it is observed. From a seemingly monochromatic surface to something much more layered. by @chojnacki.studio

monochromatic red piece in crimson red for or the questions I dilute the acrylic paint with water, and work on raw cotton canvas. You can think of it as working with watercolors wet on wet but just swap the watercolors for thinned acrylic and wetted canvas. If you like this technique save it for later or share to a friend who should try it! by @chojnacki.studio
