❤️🥁 Special guests paid tribute to the legendary Rick Buckler, drummer of The Jam at his memorial event on Monday night💙What a special evening at @wokingtheatre for the Rick Buckler Memorial Event – Music, Memories and The Jam – celebrating the life, music and legacy of a truly iconic drummer. Our clip captures some of the tributes from special guests on screen, including The Jam’s @paulwellerhq and @brucefoxtonofficial, drummer Mark Brzezicki and @fromthejam1’s @russell_hastings, as well as on-stage guests Peter Wilson, Dennis Munday and Bill Smith. With Bruce Foxton and Nicky Weller also in the audience, it was a wonderful gathering of people whose lives and memories have been touched by Rick and his music. The evening, compered by Mike Read, also featured fantastic live performances from A Town Called Malice, Pretty Green, Ian Prowse and The Highliners. An emotional and memorable night, full of stories, music, laughter and heartfelt tributes – a fitting celebration of Rick’s life and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. ❤️Thank you to Rick’s daughter @holly_buckler and to everyone who helped make the evening so special. Rick will never be forgotten. 💙🥁#TheJam #RickBuckler #Woking #WokingTheatre #Choose80s PaulWeller BruceFoxton MikeRead by @choose80s

📸 A few more pics from last night in Woking…🎸

What a memorable night celebrating the life and legacy of the legendary The Jam drummer, Rick Buckler. ❤️🥁

It was an especially incredible evening for Choose 80s’ Sue, who finally made a pilgrimage to Paul Weller’s Stanley Road! 🤩 For a lifelong Weller fan, it was a pretty surreal moment. Sadly, the original house is no longer there, but it was still wonderful to stand on such historic turf. Sue was absolutely chuffed, as the photo clearly shows! 😊📍

Another special guest slot on the night came from Steve Brookes, original co-founder of The Jam alongside Paul Weller. Steve treated us to some of the songs the band originally played in local venues, before he left in 1975, as well as some of his own material. What a talent - both as a singer and a guitarist! 🎶🎸

It was fantastic to hear from another vital piece of the rich tapestry of Rick’s life and The Jam’s story. Nights like these remind us just how much music, memories and friendships are woven into the legacy of this incredible band.

A truly special night, full of memories, stories and a shared love of the music. ❤️

What a night to remember the legendary drummer of The Jam, Rick Buckler! ❤️🥁

Last night, Choose 80s went along to the Rick Buckler Memorial Event - Music, Memories and The Jam at Woking Theatre, and what a wonderful way to celebrate Rick’s life and legacy.

It was an evening filled with live music, stories and personal reflections, bringing together people who share a love of Rick, The Jam, the music and the memories that go with it.

Special guests on screen were The Jam’s Paul Weller and Bruce Foxton, drummer Mark Brzezicki and From The Jam’s Russell Hastings. Bruce was also in the audience.

Dj Mike Read compered the night and there was live music from bands including A Town Called Malice, Pretty Green and The Highliners.

This man is such an icon ❤️ So many of the 80s artists we’ve interviewed have cited Trevor Horn as instrumental in their career. He literally shaped the 80s. It’s also been our pleasure to have interviewed him. We loved seeing him perform at Rewind Festival this year - here’s a pic of him on stage!
