Forty years after the murder of Rebecca Beard, her family says the case that was supposed to bring answers has only raised more questions. As I comb through police reports, court records, and decades-old case files, family members point to what they believe are inconsistencies in Paul Taylor Jr.‘s confession and the investigation that followed. Now they’re demanding answers from the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office about what evidence was reviewed, what leads were pursued, and whether more can be done to finally find Rebecca’s remains. #BrazoriaCounty #RebeccaBeard #PaulTaylor #Missing taken in Brazoria County by @chopperrose

Exclusive: New excavation near cemetery in 40-year-old Rebecca Beard murder case

Nearly 40 years after Rebecca “Becky” Beard disappeared, a new excavation has taken place near a Brazoria County cemetery following information from a witness who claims her remains may have been buried in the area in 1986.

A property owner contacted Investigative Reporter Tammy Rose about a possible excavation near the cemetery. The property owner also reported witnessing suspicious activity in the area around the time Beard disappeared.

The latest search follows renewed attention to the case after Rose obtained investigative documents and interviewed witnesses who raised questions about the original investigation.

Those records and witness accounts have helped bring renewed attention to a possible burial location that has remained a mystery for decades.

Photographs from the scene show excavation equipment and search personnel working near the cemetery. The digging continued into the evening under lights.

Beard was just 22 years old when she disappeared from Freeport in March 1986. Paul Taylor Jr. pleaded guilty in connection with her death in 1995, but her remains have never been recovered.

According to a source familiar with the search, excavation efforts have concluded, and nothing was found.

That was my first day in Dubai! A hospital visit, rabies shots and hours dealing with police followed.

And this isn’t my first vacation medical nightmare! From a flesh-eating bacterial infection in Honduras to a scooter crash in Turks and Caicos, I’ve had some unbelievable experiences.

I’m sharing what happened, what I discovered about camel safety and why travel medical insurance matters.

You asked for the receipts. Here they are.

Some called it rumors. Others wanted proof. Now I’m sharing the actual city records surrounding former Manvel Police Chief Keith Traylor’s retirement.

A proposed termination notice, workplace retaliation allegations and a signed separation agreement. What really happened behind closed doors?

I’ve laid out the documents and what they reveal in my latest investigation on chopperrose.com.

I came to Dubai for an adventure and ended up finding new family!

I absolutely love my new besties from Nepal! We met as strangers, but by the end of the day, it felt like we’d known each other forever. So much laughter, so many memories, and a friendship I’ll treasure long after this trip ends. Sometimes the best part of traveling is the people you meet along the way!
