Hello! I wanted to say hi from behind the chair ✂️

I’m Nora ~ I have been licensed and doing hair for 11 years in salons, but really I’ve been a hair stylist my whole life. I’ve always loved styling and braiding hair and at some point as a teenager I got my hands on some fiskar art scissors and got the courage to start cutting people’s hair. My first clients were my sister, mom, neighbors, and a number of friends.

In the second pic I’m about to cut my sister’s super long hair into a bob (we both loved it and I wish I had an after pic.) I was always surprised that people would just trust me to cut their hair! Maybe they could sense my virgo perfectionism 🥲 or just that I’ve always wanted people to be happy with their hair.

Being a hair stylist has given me a creative outlet for most of my life and I’m grateful I can continue to create with clients at the beautiful space I work in. @marmaladesalon

I have been super MIA on Instagram - but have been very busy at the salon! Thank you for booking me out and keeping me going. My favorite things to do right now, as always, are curls 😍
For my beautiful client, I cut long layers and a face frame styled with @hairstorystudio gel and @innersenseorganicbeauty I create finish hairspray for weightless extra hold and sped up drying time.
Her hair is dense and she can’t wash it often so we don’t break the cast - she prefers her hair to start out long and defined. When we met she hadn’t cut her hair in years and this haircut has made styling so much easier.
I’m so grateful for all of you trusting me with your hair. Since the pandemic I have thrown myself into learning how to care for, cut and style curls of all types. I have taken many, many classes in person and online. I’ve practiced on friends and models, I’ve even taught some classes of my own to try and learn more in a new way. Had the BEST time doing this curly transformation! Curly cuts and especially shorter curly cuts are really feeling like my calling and my happy place. Thank you for trusting me with your curls!
My client hadn’t had a haircut since the pandemic. I started the cut dry, then detoxed, cleansed and conditioned these beautiful curls before restyling them in their natural texture with @hairstorystudio styling gel. We tweaked the haircut more at the end which helped loosen up the curl set and we were pretty stoked with the end look. What do you think?! taken in Marmalade Salon by @chopshopsf

As 2025 comes to a close I’m reflecting on the past year of my career and am so grateful to continue to have such an amazing clientele - thank you to all of you who keep me in business, referring your friends and family, pre booking your appointments and keeping me in your budget!! ❤️‍🔥

I am so happy and proud that I was able to teach 3 curly cutting and styling classes this year. These pics are from my recent class at @marmaladesalon

From a round curly shape to square! Loving square haircut shapes these days. A little edgier a little more compact. My client wanted her hair out of her way but still long, layered and fun.
