I told my story. Then I had to walk past him like nothing happened.

The new Chords & Chaos episode is called NO ENDING — because there isn't one. No justice, no closure. Just female rage, grief, and the question Promising Young Woman left me with: why did dying have to be the ultimate sacrifice?

I watched Promising Young Woman last night and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

If you haven't seen it: Carey Mulligan plays Cassie — a woman whose best friend was r*ped in med school, wasn't believed, and never got justice. So Cassie spends her nights pretending to be blackout drunk in bars, waiting for the "nice guy" to offer to take her home… and then she drops the act.

⚠️ spoilers ahead — the movie's six years old, I'm calling it fair game.

I just released my new Chords & Chaos episode — WE PICK THE BEAR — where I talk about my own sexual assault for the first time publicly. In my own home. By someone I knew. No justice. Cops didn't care. He went on with his life and his career like I never happened.

And then I watched this movie and it all came crashing back. Because here's the thing about the ending: she doesn't make it. She gets him — the texts go out, the cops walk into his wedding — but she's gone. The "win" costs her everything. And I sat there in the dark thinking: that's the most honest ending they could have written. In real life there's no revenge montage. There's no posthumous text message that's going to fix it. There's just us — still here, still carrying it, still screaming into a system that hands rapists essays and paid leave.

I'm feeling really heavy today. All of this trauma, and still no resolution. Not in the movie. Not in my episode. Not in real life.

In fact, I have to walk past my abuser often, and just pretend everything is ok.

Its not ok.

But we keep talking anyway. Because our silence is exactly what they're counting on.

It’s hard to put into words where I’ve been, but I think it’s finally time to talk about it...

Over the last while, I’ve been going through some of the darkest times of my life. There were days when finding even a small flicker of light felt impossible, and mental health took everything I had just to navigate day by day. I had to step away, grow quiet, and give myself the grace and space to simply process and heal.

Through all of that darkness, slowly and gently, the light found its way back in.

I’m stepping back up to the microphone. The podcast is coming back, not because I have everything figured out, but because sharing our stories and finding connection is part of how we heal.

Its been slower than I thought....

This next chapter is going to look a little different—a little softer, a little more honest, and rooted in where I am right now. I would love nothing more than for you to come along for this new journey with me as I continue mine.

Thank you for being here, for your patience, and for holding space even in the silence.

Over the past while, I've been on a healing journey.

There were days that felt impossibly heavy—some of the lowest, darkest moments of my life.

I stepped away because I needed the space to rebuild, to listen to myself, and to find my way back.

Healing isn't something that happens overnight, but somewhere along the way, I realized that our stories have the power to bring light into the places we thought would stay dark forever.

And that's why this podcast is returning.

That's why I'm returning.

This show has become part of my healing, and I hope it can be part of yours too.

I'll be sitting down with incredible guests, sharing honest conversations, lessons, and stories that remind us we're never as alone as we think we are.

For the first time in a long time, I feel truly present.

Present with myself, with this work, and most importantly, with all of you.

I'm so grateful to be back with my people. I can't wait to share where I've been, what I've learned, and the conversations that helped me find my way home.

Not dead yet.

Hiked 10k. Literally RAN up a frikkin' hill.

It was a crazy climb, but getting to the top felt amazing.

Do the things you would NEVER do. Get to the top of something you'd never THINK you'd achieve.

My quads are gonna burn like hot fire 🔥 tomorrow.

WORTH IT.
