Fun fact my uncle Duckie gave me this sweater when I was a teenager 🥴

The reinvention of Cody 🙄…working on myself is an ongoing project that never ceases to frustrate me. For about 30 seconds I tried to do something I’ve never done before and that was try to fit in. (Glad that ended cause I was confused and bored as hell).

Misunderstood and misrepresented but I ain’t never been mishandled … and let’s credit that to authenticity and a few good 🍑 whoopings.

THE CORDELION KIDS CLUB !!

It didn’t just start over night …boots been on ground you feel me.

Proven and backed by professionally quantified data that 80% of the youth that participate in @cordelioninc programming are more prepared and equipped to thrive not only creatively but academically. Like this guys @jordell_ who was our team captain and now a professional NBA dancer who holds a master degree and NEVER hesitates to give back …and we’re continually proud an amazed to watch his belief and hard work manifest into all he wanted.

Could’ve found some more or less cringey videos lol but that’s not what this is about…it’s about history, reciprocity, and facts that the Cordelion bridge and pathway is such an important and magical experience for youth.

We often focus on who and how many are coming thru the door …but the real test of authenticity and integrity is shown through what comes out and who never returns.

Retention reveals everything and we skip pass making this critical analysis when selecting our people, places, and things… if everyone leaves hurt and unhappy what does that tell you? When the only way INTO something is confusion and the only way OUT is pain and silence.

My prayer this season is for GOD to grant me the ability to fight opposition and NOT drop the assignment. Shield me from the mouths and thoughts that incite doubt and stunt growth. Free us from leadership and ideologies that make us question the marvelous things you are doing in our lives. And above all keep me soft enough to touch the hearts and minds of the ones who can’t see

I started off talking about them but then it became about HIM! 🌟

@imskootah this was a gift …

This man could’ve been anywhere on his break from tour while prepping for a global artist but he took the time to do this. He didn’t come in like some huge star, he GENUINELY came in with an evident intention to feed them from his heart. On top of that he also took dedicated the time to sit and converse with them, offering insight into a journey they too aspire to walk one day.

Not only did you support their development as dancers but also their development as good humans. Your steps fed them as young artist but your demonstration of RECIPROCITY taught them so much more …your are helping shape a generation of great artist and better leaders and will be an important figure in their story of greatest one day.

There is something that is lost amongst this generation and everyone’s says it’s training but it’s honestly THIS! Giving back is a key to why so many great artist are who they are. Paying it forward is second nature when it comes to the arts. Thank you again for reminding me.
