The first advance copy of what is undeniably our most challenging project so far—and our very first in this genre. Some might say it’s the beginning of a series. It very well could be; just give us a little time (a few years?) to recover from this one first. The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo is a city guide unlike any other — Tokyo as seen, lived, and loved by the artists who call it home.Conceived by CĂ©cile Poimboeuf-Koizumi @cecilesayuri , the book brings together 15 artists who each share a deeply personal map of the city: their favourite cafĂ©s, hidden streets, late-night bars, bookstores, galleries and neighbourhoods. More than a travel guide, it is an intimate portrait of Tokyo through creative eyes.Born in 1987 to a Japanese mother and French father, CĂ©cile Poimboeuf-Koizumi grew up between cultures, spending her earliest years in Tokyo — a city that has remained central to her imagination and identity. After years of being asked where to go, eat, stay, and wander in Tokyo, she decided to invite artists to answer the question themselves.Part atlas, part artist book, part cultural diary, The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo offers readers a rare way into the city: through the people who create within it.Featuring:Kazuhei Kimura @kazuheikimura Yasuyuki Takagi @yasuyukitakagi1124 Kotori Kawashima @kotori_kawashima Chieko Shiraishi @chieko.shiraishi Audrey Fondecave @audrey.fondecave Yoko IkedaNaohiro Harada @naohiro_harada_photography Yoshiyuki Okuyama @yoshiyukiokuyama Yoshinori Mizutani @yoshinori_mizutani Koji OnakaRinko Kawauchi @rinkokawauchi Mitsugu OhnishiSakiko NomuraMoe Suzuki @moesuzuki.bbi Cintia Tortosa Santisteban @cincinzin ***First editionConcept and editorial direction: CĂ©cile Poimboeuf-KoizumiDesign : Tilmann S. IT’S BACK.Five years after its first edition—and several reprints later—we’re delighted to present a second edition. How can you tell it apart from the first? We thought it would be more enjoyable to leave a small surprise. The coloured papers remain in similar tones, but they’re different this time. And if you spot a pink head and tail band, you’ll know you’re holding the second edition. Even if you already own the first, this new version may well find its way onto your shelf. Our heartfelt thanks to all the readers, collectors, and bookshops whose continued enthusiasm made this reprint possible, together with @deannadikeman.For those discovering the book for the first time, here’s a gentle reminder:“This book presents 27 years of Deanna Dikeman photographing her parents waving goodbye as she left their home after a visit. Just as she was driving away, Dikeman invariably pointed her camera at her parents. What started with a candid snapshot in 1991 turned into a ritual over the years. The book chronicles their farewells as seasons change and years go by, separating black and white photographs from colour photographs. Leaving and Waving — which was originally part of a larger body of work entitled Relative Moments — is a heartfelt exploration of family, the passage of time and the sadness of leaving. “ by @chose_commune

NEW — Europe + rest of the world soft launch, US distribution will start mid-July): Son Pictures @trentdavisbailey A multigenerational family story centered on the limited relationship between a bereaved son and his long-deceased mother—who died in a plane crash—as well as that same son’s new life as a husband and father. This nonlinear, narrative-driven book charts an artist’s journey through alternating currents of grief, pleasure, love, and heartache, suggesting how the past is ever-present. by @chose_commune

Join us this evening for @cincinzin’s solo show Screenshots From A Series Of Videos About A Rice Field And Its Surroundings, opening at @phmuseumlab 🎏Cintia Tortosa Santisteban’s gaze unconsciously enters into dialogue with several core concepts of Japanese culture. On one hand, nichijƍ (æ—„ćžž), a term that refers to daily life and the wonder of the ordinary. On the other, mono no aware (ç‰©ăźć“€ă‚Œ), an expression describing a profound awareness of the ephemeral nature of things. In this context, time is not conceived solely as a linear progression, but as a continuous cycle dictated by the turning of the seasons, Shiki (曛正).The images collected by the artist capture this very cyclical dimension of experience, transforming daily repetition into an exercise in observation and memory.Selected through the @phmuseum 2025 Women Photographers Grant, Tortosa Santisteban’s work will be on display from 18 June to 4 October, as part of the fifth edition of the @phmuseumdays international photography festival. We are waiting for you from 6pm at PhMuseum Lab, in Via Paolo Fabbri 10/2a, Bologna-ITA nel primo commento-#bologna #phmuseumlab #cintiatortosasantisteban #phmuseumdays by @chose_commune
