The humble RUTABAGA...

It's a root vegetable that is a cross between a turnip and cabbage but can mimic a potato-esc vibe when cooked (except for fries.. I learned the hard way).

Nutritionally, Rutabaga is a great substitute in place of starchy, high GI veg like potatoes or grains like rice. 1 cup of Rutabaga contains 12 g and 50 calories. Versus potatoes which packs 130 calories and 30 g of carbs. Rutabaga is also rich in calcium and vitamin c. I used it in a puree with Keifer and butter & it was delicious! Would you make the swap?

A DELICIOUS SWAP with even more benefits!

Sweet potato vs Wheat buns ⬇️

Sweet Potatoes:
✅High Fiber -> Supports a healhy gut
✅Beta-carotene-> A vitamin creator
✅Prebotic -> Feeds good gut bacteria
✅Anti-Inflammatory -> Kills an inflammed environment

🆚

Wheat Buns:
❌High sugar spikes
❌Processed oils
❌Enriched hybrid wheat
❌Harmful chemicals

Will you swap the wheat 🍞 for sweet potato 🍠?

Let us know in the comments.. this was a lamb burger and it was AH-mazing!! #lowsugar #lowcarb #keto #diabetes wellnesswednesday by @chosenlot
