My new piece WETMAXXING premieres today as part of TanzXperiment No. 8 presented by @mainfranken_theater 💦💦💦

Thank you @blailopez . You have interpreted this piece with a commitment, focus, and generosity that I admire so much. It has been a pleasure watching you get into this strange, damp world.

Thank you @damndaem for the sound design. Collaborating with you is always effortless, and your work continues to amaze me.

Here’s a small excerpt from WETMAXXING. 💦💦💦💦💦

in 2024, i remember walking out of my dundas west flat and only being able to see smoke. i had a bunch of missed calls from my friend on my phone, and the sound of sirens was intense. it affected me in such a small way, so i can’t imagine what the loss must have felt like for the people who have called St. Anne’s their community and home.

St. Anne’s Anglican Church was a national historic site and an important part of the west end community and toronto’s arts community. the building was largely destroyed by fire on june 9, 2024.

i want to thank the St. Anne’s community, Rui & @artspintoronto for allowing me to present 𝓷𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓰𝓸 𝓽𝓸 𝓫𝓮𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝓰𝓻𝔂 here. it was beautiful to bring a piece that is so much about memory, loss, and change into a place carrying its own grief. i’m very grateful to have been welcomed into it.

Welcoming our first choreographer for The Garage 2026: Christian Lavigne @chris.lavigne 🌧️

Christian Lavigne is an international multi-hyphenated artist.

Christian is a dance artist + actor + model whose practice fuses contemporary dance, physical theater, and pop-cultural chaos. His work moves between the digital and the physical, stage and screen.

Christian has been working across contemporary dance, choreography, acting and modelling. His movement practice bridges contemporary and classical dance forms, commercial dance, and physical theatre. He has danced both as a freelancer and within companies, gaining a deep understanding of the discipline of performance.

Currently, Christian is informed by the following: internet culture; starting with playlists, moodboards, cultural & digital references. Improvisation; and how clothing, architecture, and text can affect it. Physicality; through embodiment and presence.
