My beloved sister. My biggest inspiration. My best friend. Every single moment has felt so surreal that I don’t even know how to react. I’ve been praying for answers, praying to wake up because everything just doesn’t make sense. It feels so quiet at home that I can’t be your little brother and annoy you while checking on you. You were so kind to others, willing to sacrifice your own happiness without hesitation. It pains me so deeply that I won’t be able to smile and laugh with you anymore. I’ll never forget the moment we stopped butting heads and bonded over our shared struggles. You were a blueprint for me to follow and learn from. Carolin, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be where i’m at today. You were in the process of becoming a PTA and I know how badly you wanted to be PT but couldn’t because of your circumstances. You told me you were looking forward to working with each other one day in a clinic. As much as I hate growing up, I couldn’t wait for adulthood with you, whatever it was going to look like. The amount of fear you most likely experienced in your last moments haunts me and I can’t come to terms with knowing we won’t be sitting across from each other at the dinner table anymore. It stings so deeply because you were starting to finally catch a rhythm. You were dealt so many bad hands, yet you always pushed through while maintaining that beautiful smile even on your toughest days. You took on so many responsibilities for our family and did so without complaining, just happy that we were together. You suffered so much. I know it’ll take time, but I’ve been trying to find peace in that God felt it was time to end your pain and finally give you peace. God gave me the best sister I could ask for and I couldn’t be more grateful for the blessing that you were.

Say Hi to Tucker, Uncle Paul, and Grandma for me, I’ll do my best to hold it down with Mom and Dad. Carolin, I love you so so much, and I miss you even more. We’ll be together again one day. I’ll always be your annoying little brother.❤️ by @chris.na
