Externalization of Validation

“Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.”
— Simone Weil

What happens to our gaze when we want to be seen ourselves?

Perhaps attention is one of our oldest forms of longing: to be seen, to belong, to leave a trace in another’s gaze.

But when attention becomes currency, perhaps our seeing changes, too.

We search for the extraordinary, the unlikely, the moment that remains.

And at some point, the quiet question arises — perhaps especially for visual and performing artists: are we still seeing what encounters us, or already what we hope others will see?
