POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Words cannot describe how good it felt to be back recording with @eastconnectionmusicrec. I feel like I've been chasing a forgotten dream for two years and suddenly, unexpectedly, it was real again.

Recording with an orchestra is magic. With the digital world becoming so crazy, I was reminded of the beauty of humanity. This session felt like such a breath of fresh air.

Not only that, to be recording with the help of two close friends from school is its own kind of magic. Making new memories with @nikola1ekic and @enrico_fallea is something I'm going to think about often.

Thank you for your fantastic orchestrations and conducting Nikola and Enrico for the score prep and being such a HANDSOME camera man hehehehe.

I cannot wait to share this project with the world. More to come later on.

The past few weeks have been absolutely bonkers trying to balance everything I have going on but I finally had a moment to edit/share this huge milestone from June. (With more to come that are secretly still percolating hehehe)

I want to formally share my IMMENSE gratitude to the @edmontonfringe for supporting my artistic work by granting me the Nordic & Cloutier Family Innovation Award. I also want to thank John and Vivian Cloutier as well as their business Nordic Mechanical for supporting the arts.

Through their support I was able to hire 7 local musicians and 2 actors to workshop my musical Erlking, which I am in the process of converting to a musical audio play. My hope for the future is to release a portable musical fairytale that showcases #yeg talent over multiple disciplines and is accessible all over the globe. The amount that I learned from our brief 3 hour workshop was immense, and I cannot state how grateful I am for the opportunity.

Big shout outs to:

All of the actors and musicians involved with lifting my text and music off of the page.

@brainewithpants for producing, live mixing and being a flexible badass.

@grindstonetheatre for providing an affordable and well manned space.

@moonchata for recording the whole workshop and @caitplayspiano for all the great feedback.
(@lambhand and @hvocando are also included.)

And to anyone I didn't tag or does not have instagram 🙂

What an amazing April and May it's been. (First post out of a few to come in the next few days)

Forever grateful to @trevorschmidt69 and @northernlighttheatre for giving me the amazing opportunity to create the sound design/music for the final show in their season "Radiant Vermin."

I was given a lot of creative freedom to interpret, support and modify to work with @larissapoho and @mattopacity respective lighting and video designs which was a real treat. This project came at the perfect time.

Back in 2021 I went out into the woods with a group of friends and recorded a "proof of concept" musical short film. In 2024, Erlking now has a completed written score and is reving up to secure funding for a fully narrated musical audio play.

I've never been more certain about a project needing to happen. The themes, characters and moral fable aspects are so intertwined with my own familial and mental health journey that I'm pushing hard for it to get made. (Also with everything else happening in the world)

Much love to @helloferalstreep and @maa.yapapaya for helping me with this step of the journey and sitting in the bug infested ravine 🤣

Thanks to @akashsherman for the digital effects in this shot and @moonchata for the wonderful cinematography.

Fam, I haven't cheesed, or wanted to post in so long but today was the first rehearsal for "The Lawyer Show" (Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum) with me as music director and I'm so grateful.

Big thanks to @trevorschmidt69 and @northernlighttheatre for bringing me on board. Excited to see this team/show grow.

As @lambhand knows I have been SOOOO excited to announce that their film "Haunted House" (which I scored and did sound design for) was selected to be screened at DOK Leipzig international film festival.

It feels like such a big step for me as a composer to have an artistic work that I participated in creating to have recognition from a festival like DOK. I want to keep building momentum and have lots more to share...in a month or so hahahaha.

Keep moving everyone.
