We are absolutely honored to receive this award for having the best music in Cape May. It certainly is something we could never do alone. We have always viewed the Chalfonte as a key contributor to the music and arts community in Cape May and have strived to expand it.

This year the music has been incredible. We have a super talented rotation of performers:

The one offs this year were incredible. We were so lucky to Host The Bastard Sons of Capt Mey, for one of their only shows of the summer.

We also for the first time hosted @kevinpdevine which was a special treat. Kevin is not only insanely talented with a very storied career, but also a super kind person. He’s been a part of so many cool music projects and festivals it was a dream to host him last week! Please check him out and we look forward to working with him in the future!

The Tuesday Jazz nights led by @bobshomo have been incredible. The talent he brings every week from all over the east coast is astonishing and we are so lucky to host it.

The rotating Wednesdays have really taken a step to the next level.

@redsmithmusic has joined us from Delaware with his booming voice and great guitar playing, often with his very talented son.

@calebstinemusic , who congratulations are in order btw, can play just about anywhere and we are so lucky he chooses to play here. He is so talented and his talents take him all over to play. I also would like to point out how humble he is; he recently left the hotel Friday am after playing the Ramble the night before (and who knows how late at the post ramble) and drove to Baltimore to open for Sierra Hull. We would have never known if it wasn’t for social media. If you don’t know her, she’s won just about every Bluegrass and Country award you can win.

We have been spoiled so much by the Hannah family. Jim, Gino, Karin, Milo and James musical talents, and a special shout out to Mary Kate for helping design the Jazz Room. @hajim9090 @_giinz_ @mk238

Updated restaurant hours this week! We’ll be closed for breakfast & dinner Tuesday & Wednesday this week, as well as the weeks of 9/14 & 9/21. The King Eddie will remain open every day from 3pm-close, with our bar menu available! Live music continues, too!🎶

There is a magic thing that happens every Thursday night in the Summer on the porch of the incredible Chalfonte Hotel 🏨 in Cape May NJ—it’s called the Howard Street Ramble and it’s some of the best music you’re going to hear. Chris G S is at the helm of a mighty ship of musical sailors who fearlessly dive into an unscripted 3 hours of music that sails the entire American songbook. I know all this cause I’ve hopped aboard many times and thrown songs at them I know they’ve never heard, cause I just wrote them. It’s a very special group of musicians and I’m so glad to spend time with them when the schedule allows. Here’s a clip from last week’s epic throwdown.
