I still cry.
I remember the smell, the confusion, the helplessness, the silence, the sorrow and the countless funerals.

I still feel proud.
I remember digging without tools or lights, being exhausted but knowing every minute mattered. I remember working next to the bravest, finest & strongest to do whatever was necessary.

I still feel grateful.
I remember people giving water, food and whatever they could. I remember random people hugging and encouraging one another. I remember getting off a bus having to walk home, filthy from head to toe with all my gear and a man offered me a ride after working 3 days straight without coming home. I told him i’m too dirty and he said “ please I have to do something”. Strangers became neighbors.

I still feel hopeful.
I remember God showing me the night sky and seeing a star as some smoke parted for a brief moment, I heard the Lord saying man can only destroy what man creates but hold on to what’s eternal which no man can destroy.

Happy birthday @chrisgioello! 23 is a great number for truly an amazing man. Many have worn that famous number on a jersey and i’m praying greatness over your life this year and the continued shepherding of psalm 23 over your life. The strength you carry from the Lord is evident to all who meet you, know you and trust you. Keep growing and leading! Stay focused, humble and silly at times. I love you and Let’s go Knicks! by @chris_gioello
